I had received a recall notice on my vehicle, a 2008 Honda CRv that was for the rear frame brace due to rust and corrosion. They called me a little later to let me know it was all done and I could pick up the vehicle. No one mentioned any other issues or potential issues as I left with the keys. Come March I took the car in for its annual inspection and it failed due to a serious amount of rust and corrosion on the rear frame, all around the area they were working on to install the brace for the recall. No one at Matt Burne even bothered to mention it. No one bothered to look at my inspection sticker to see it was only 2 months away to at least warn me. No one mentioned the vehicle was unsafe to drive, let alone drive my wife and children around in. I called Matt Burne to find out why they would do something like this, but of course, I had to leave a voicemail since no one answers the phone in the service dept. Two days later I got a call back from Matt, and he said that the for the recall, the amount of rust doesn't matter. All they need to do is remove one bolt from the frame which holds in the trailing arm, and if they can do that then it passes and they install the brace. While at one time they were required to do a punch test on the frame, it appears Honda has removed that requirement. I bought the car from Matt Burne, and yet they couldn't care less about me or my family. While they may have held to Honda's requirements for the recall, their behavior on this one shows no concern for their customers. It is pretty despicable behavior. Imagine now if my inspection wasn't due until the end of the year, I would still be driving the car. The frame is disintegrating as it sits and waits for a tow truck to haul it away. Yet it supposedly passes their test for the recall and Matt Burne doesn't care enough to say anything. More
