Buying a car is the most intimidating purchase I can imagine making, other than a home. I approached this with trepidation, the expectation of being pressured/bamboozled and more than a little fear. I made an appointment to look at a Mazda CX-5 with Eric Singer after reading the vehicle reviews on Consumer Reports and multiple online sites like Car and Driver. Eric treated me with respect and absolutely NO pressure. The test drive was fun and he avoided mansplaining, which was probably difficult since I’m not exactly a car whiz or tech savvy. So much has changed since I last bought a car! He walked me through all the new technology and has the patience of a kindergarten teacher. He obviously loves this brand and it shows. When I left the dealership after my test drive, I told Eric and I would be test driving four more vehicles for comparison and would get back to him the next day or two with my decision. He promised not to blow up my phone with calls/texts in the meanwhile. This is the first time someone has actually made that promise and kept it. After driving multiple other vehicles, I decided the Mazda CX-5 was the one for me, came back, drove it again (by myself) and made the purchase. From start to finish it took less than 3 hours. This included the 2nd test drive, all the paperwork, financing, registration , insurance, vehicle prep, orientation, etc. Every single person that I spoke to at Mazda City Orange Park was kind, professional, personable, and relaxed. Not a single person pressured me or tried to upsell me on an aftermarket purchase. Last, but not least… The gentlemen of Mazda have adopted a local stray cat (her name is Miata) and she hangs out in style, eating out of her fancy dishes and occasionally gets her fat and happy self shooed out of the showroom when she makes herself too comfy. I could see by the way that they treated this little lady that their kindness isn’t a show for the customer. This is my first Mazda and I haven’t driven it long enough to know if I’m going to like or love it, that will come with time. I can say that the buying experience was five stars and I would recommend this dealership, and Eric Singer specifically, without hesitation. More
