Not even 24 hours later I'm in Lynn's office signing paperwork on a 2014 Escape that looks like it just came off the showroom floor; spotless, shiny and immaculate inside and out. Not only was Lynn the ultimate professor of knowledge, but we never felt like a customer, but instead was treated merely like family. Throughout the entire experience, I was either referred to as Buddy, Sir or My Friend. That's what you get with Lynn after getting to know him and building a relationship with him. However, you're still made to feel just as special as if it's your 1st purchase. The new Sales guys would be wise to take hints and/or tips from Big Tex as he is what a Sales Executive should be. We got the car, color, options within our price range, without the usual hassle of car buying. Lynn is very good at his job and worked with us to acquire what seemed impossible at the beginning. "The Deal" I was in Fort Worth on business (live in Anahuac, TX) and had some available time and decided to stop in at McDavid Ford and look around. After locating the vehicle on the lot I decided to go inside and talk to a sales person. As I walked in the dealership I met the receptionist and mentioned that I wanted to speak to a no nonsense sales person. To my surprise she got out of her chair and disappeared for a brief moment and shortly afterwards Lynn Self appeared. Without wasting much time after the introductions Lynn took me to his office and within 15-20 minutes he had structured "The Deal". This deal also included a "blind trade" and he prepared all the numbers which exceeded my expectations. I had talked with two other dealerships (Houston area) and had some numbers to work from but Lynn/McDavid worked the numbers much better. I asked Lynn to explain the numbers and he came back with a simple statement... "We want your business". I've had the privilege throughout my adult life to purchase several new (Ford) vehicles and this was by far the best "truck" buying experience I've had. If you're in the market to purchase a vehicle I'd strongly suggest stopping in at McDavid Ford and see Lynn Self or "Big Tex" as his friends call him.
