So far, we've had an excellent experience at McGee Toyota, specifically with our very personable salesperson, Tanner Fairbanks. My car, a Rav 4 Prime, had to be ordered, and Tanner kept us posted on Toyota, specifically with our very personable salesperson, Tanner Fairbanks. My car, a Rav 4 Prime, had to be ordered, and Tanner kept us posted on a regular basis. Then another car came in that met our specs, and he immediately contacted us to see if we wanted it (we did!) He also spent time explaining the paperwork and introducing me to the car's features, since it's our first plug-in. We look forward to continuing to work with McGee on service, etc. More
Look for a different dealer. If you can. Deceptive sales practices and lack of integrity. Took a refundable deposit and when eventually requested refund. Refused to refund full a If you can. Deceptive sales practices and lack of integrity. Took a refundable deposit and when eventually requested refund. Refused to refund full amount and kept a service charge. Was initially told it was oversight and would be rectified. But now refuses to return my calls leaving multiple messages over months. By both sales manager and finance. More
Leased a vehicle in the spring. Wasn’t happy with the payment I expressed it was too high for me. Jason the manager told me after seeing my income I could afford this no problem. Wasn’t happy with the payment I expressed it was too high for me. Jason the manager told me after seeing my income I could afford this no problem. I told him I was very nervous e about it and didn’t feel comfortable with it. He told me that at anytime if I felt I was going to fall behind to come see him and he would take care of me no questions asked and get me into a different vehicle with a much more reasonable payment. Feeling pressured I reluctantly signed the lease paperwork. Well here I am almost 7 months later, my husband has been in about of the hospital since august we both have had to miss lots of work because of this I have called the dealership many times.. they tell me they will see what they can do.. they have since stopped answering my calls. I try text messaging I believe I must of been blocked. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone. They don’t care about their customers. They fill you with false promises. Side note: I went to this dealership because my son bought a vehicle from them in Feb and it seemed to go smoothly. More
The initial sales part went well. We did our research online; the sales department contacted me at which point I told him I wanted to purchase two cars. A highlander and a Hybrid Rav4 We did our research online; the sales department contacted me at which point I told him I wanted to purchase two cars. A highlander and a Hybrid Rav4. He pleasant, courteous, and very responsive. We had to do the quote a few times but that's nothing new. I have been leasing Toyota's since 1988 with a near $300K of past purchases and this one being almost $100K, I have never seen it go 'smoothly'. A few back-and-forth calls and the numbers worked to what was advertised on the Toyota website and we said OK. All in all, not bad. The first to be delivered was the Highlander. Took a bit longer than expected because they did not have drivers to get it down to NJ. Arrived July 10th. Easy work no problem signed for it no damages all was good. The Rav4 showed up a week later and same deal, all was good. We received the Title, Reg, and other paperwork for the NJ DMV for the Rav4 the Friday after it was delivered. We had yet to receive the Highlander paperwork. Called and they said it was going to arrive the following week because the person who did this was out. Arrived on time and we noticed that there were things wrong with the paperwork. Names in the wrong place, numbers did not add up. Contacted the person and he worked hard to get things corrected. We went to the DMV and was immediately rejected because the Certificate of Origin was incorrectly stamped with the wrong address for NJ. Again, not blaming them because I know how hard it is with NJ's DMV to get Title and Registration information right. Reached out to them and that was when the back and forth started. Neither the Rav or Highlander could get titled and registered. The temporary plates were run out. The people signing the paperwork did not have authority on the Power of Attorney to do so. We had to get all the paperwork and new copies of the Certificate of Authority done. That whole process took about 6 weeks. Having all the paperwork together finally my wife goes to the DMV where she is told that there would be additional sales tax due. We find out that the dealership did not do the paperwork correctly and only sent the amount that was our responsibility on the lease. This is where it really started to go downhill. We were told that since they made the mistake of not correctly figuring out the taxes for NJ we had to pay the difference even though we are only responsible for the amount as part of the lease period. We were then told that it was not their fault because "leases are hard". Subsequent calls so the dealership was met with unreturned calls, repeated statements that we owe the tax because they did not collect it. When in fact, it is Toyota's tax liability but because they screwed up the paperwork, we have to pay out a little over $3K to NJ. That's money I would never had to pay because, as part of a lease you only have to pay your part of the sales tax for the time you lease (rent) the vehicle. To date, we are out $1600 because they are reneging on the reimbursement of the tax overage, even though we have a signed document from them that they would reimburse for the difference. All we had to do was notify them of the difference. In addition, the Highlander is still not titled and registered because I want to make sure we are not paying out taxes we don't owe. Only positive thing on this is we work from home and do not need to drive the cars all the time. Now the part is that when faced with paying out the taxes, management realizes they made a mistake somewhere in calculating %6 sales tax, although they figured out how to use calculator on my portion. And now the poor customer service begins. I would be very careful as an out of state buyer when dealing with this dealership. After all is said and done, once they have their money, they don't care how it happened and now it's just too bad. More
