On 10/23/21 we purchased a used pickup from Zac B. at McGee Toyota, Claremont. Our purchase experience was a 5 Star rating. Zac and Lane were great to work with. Let me start off by saying in my opinion this has to be the worst dealership I have ever done business with . The words I have to say about what has transpired at this dealership google won’t let me type i the worst dealership I have ever done business with . The words I have to say about what has transpired at this dealership google won’t let me type it all out! Sad to say I’m not the first person! I started the process of getting my wife a new 4 runner as her lease was coming to an end ! We found the one we wanted at McGee Toyota of Claremont . Josh Eastburn is who help us along the way and was very helpful until it came time to deal with a Toyota incentive that they offer for the military . My wife already has a 4 runner we bought it at Rochester Toyota , we used the same rebate when we leased hers the first time with no problems ! I informed just I would like to use the rebate he said the only way we could and he was 99% sure was if I was on the credit app and that if we wanted to do that it would take another 20 minutes and someone else was hot on the car and I was at risk of losing it ! I asked him if he was sure I had to be on it and this unknown unnamed manger rudely goes “ well I’m 100% sure you have to be on the credit app “ with me driving with my family going up north I didn’t have the facts In front of me to argue with Josh and the no name manger over the phone . Josh later then called me he had the numbers done and ready for me to review and sign and get that vehicle locked in for us . I was widely confused on the numbers nothing made sense and the numbers were wrong . I talked with Josh about that and ensured me they were right they had to work them for the computer! I again asked about the rebate and he said it’s not up to him and if it was he would just give it to him . He then tells me but don’t worry I got you another one for 750 for Toyota loyalty which in my eyes we should have gotten that anyways ! I went back forth with Josh after we got off the phone with texts from Toyota’s website about the rebate where it finally got to the point where I did not respond to Josh that night as I felt like I was getting no where and that Josh was only doing what his “manger “ told him to do . Looking back on the situation and how Josh had handled it I couldn’t say I could have done any better . Josh was simply just the middle man and relaying the information he was miss guided with from his “ manger “ . On my 2.5 HR ride up to purchase the vehicle I still have not let this military rebate go, i decided to call Toyota myself and get to the bottom of why we couldn’t use the military rebate . I was met with a very nice lady named Tracy we went over the whole thing she understood where I was coming from and that she had to speak with a team advisor. Once she had returned she was informed that she wasn’t really sure on why we couldn’t use it other than some dealerships act on there own set of rules they lay out . With that being said I was still confused on why a Independently owned Toyota dealership wouldn’t follow what Toyota has put out to its customers for incentives and if I had to be on the loan why didn’t it say it in the disclaimer . Tracy had then informed me that I should speak with a different department who handles these types of things . Another lady had came on the phone I didn’t catch her name very nice though , I explained the situation and she reached out to the dealership and spoke with a manger and that they told me all’s I would have to do was bring a bill and my military service to them which was a total lie no one at that dealership told me that . I wouldn’t have wasted and 1.5 hrs of my time on the phone ! I was then transferred to a senior advisor drew . I once again explained everything to him and he as well called the dealership to see what the issue is with the military rebate and find some way to resolve this and again this phantom “manger” I have yet to speak with says he is looking into it and that there’s an * he needs to clarify with Toyota financial. 10 minutes later after getting off the phone with drew with nothing resolved with the dealership other than a complaint filed with Toyota I had arrived with my wife to get our new 4 runner . I wasn’t met by a concerned manger looking to clear the air I wasn’t met by anyone ! I had to text Josh I was there for him to come out. He showed us around the new vehicle everything look great very knowledgeable on it . We decided let’s sign those papers ! Again I was at the dealership for 20 minutes I was never once met by a manger looking to make things right ! I sat out in the lobby for the world to hear and sign our papers with the sales rep . I didn’t get the comfort of the finance mangers office ! But as I sat there with my wife I watched Josh walk back forth to an office that held someone who felt as if they were alot more important than us and our customer needs ! The best part of this whole thing I thought was the icing on the cake was I promised one thing that was never delivered on which led me to this review and that’s “ great customer service “ if that is what anyone is looking for make the drive else where , save the hassle, your time and money go else where !!! More
