Subject: Paint / Clear Coat Defect on New 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid I am writing to formally report a serious concern regarding my brand-new 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid purchased from McGove TrailSport Hybrid I am writing to formally report a serious concern regarding my brand-new 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid purchased from McGovern Honda. The vehicle is only a few months old, and in less than two months I started noticing defects appearing in the clear coat/paint on multiple parts of the vehicle, including the front bumper and the side mirror. This is extremely concerning for a brand-new vehicle. I brought the vehicle to McGovern Honda expecting a proper professional inspection. Unfortunately, no technical inspection was performed. The dealership simply took photos of the defect and sent them to Honda. Based only on those photos, I was told that the issue “appears to be caused by natural factors.” However, no real diagnostic procedure was performed. There was no paint thickness measurement, no inspection of the clear coat layer, and no professional analysis of the paint condition. Additionally, the customer service experience was very disappointing. I waited more than 30 days for a response regarding my case. During this time I called the dealership multiple times and was told that only the salesperson who sold me the vehicle could handle the situation. I left several messages but never received a call back. After waiting more than 30 days without any clear response, I had to personally visit the dealership just to get information about my case. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that I am a loyal Honda customer. I previously purchased a 2020 Honda Civic from the same dealership, and now this new 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid. I have also recommended this dealership to friends who ended up purchasing vehicles there based on my recommendation. I have owned vehicles from other manufacturers such as Toyota and Ford for many years and have never experienced clear coat defects appearing on a practically new vehicle. Based on the condition of the paint and the very short time since purchase, this may indicate a manufacturing or paint process defect that deserves a proper professional inspection. I respectfully request that Honda review this case and arrange for a proper technical evaluation of the vehicle’s paint and clear coat. As a customer who has trusted the Honda brand, I expect the quality and support that Honda is known for. Thank you for your attention to this matter. More
