Dear Jay, I am very sorry that you did not receive the level of service you expected and as the General Manager, I only wish that you had sought me out long before this created an issue for you. Here is what I found out... In July when you came in, the factory fit and trim on the hood of your Impreza WAS off and we removed the hood and adjusted the hinges per factory specs. In August, the rubber mounts were lubricated to eliminate a pesky squeak. Turns out when you came in on October 12th with the same fit issue, a Subaru of America Service Rep was at our dealership that day, thoroughly inspected the hood and determined that it did indeed meet factory specs and could not find anything wrong with it. As for the remote starter, Service Managers are pretty knowledgeable but they don't know everything, which is why Roger consulted with one of our experienced technicians who works on remote starters regularly. According to our technician, the best way to unlock a "frozen and unresponsive" remote starter system is to power it off by disconnecting the battery so that it will reset itself and be responsive to programming.
