I bought a preowned 2017 DO NOT BUY A CAR THERE! I've had the absolute worst dealership experience ever with Mcgrath Acura of Downtown Chicago! I bought a preowned 2017 RDX on July 3rd of 2020. I ended up refinancing the car through my credit union within a few days of the purchase because the rate McGrath was able to get was just insanely high. I also got a better extended warranty for less through my credit union. Therein lies my problem. I've been trying to get a refund for the $1720 I paid McGrath for the extended warranty since shortly after the purchase. They've been jerking me around for 7 months! They have every excuse under the sun why they couldn't give me the money... blaming it on Covid and the insurance company. After months of constant phone calls and stopping in to make sure they hadn't forgotten about me, I finally received an email from the finance guy telling me they're cutting me a check. That was on February 3rd of 2021! 7 months to the day I purchased my car! But when I called him to see if I could stop by the dealership to pick up the check he told me that they actually couldn't send the check to me, but rather had to send it to Bank of America, who had originally financed the car. I paid for the warranty with a credit card at the dealership. The receipt has McGrath's name on it. It wasn't a part of the financing. Why do they need to send the check to B of A? I've tried getting a hold of the general manager many times to discuss this with him but no one will connect me with him. I'm sure they're all worried about their jobs, as well they should be. Contrary to what their hold recording says, if you have a problem and you don't feel like you're being treated fairly trust me when I say that you will in no way be able to get ahold of the general manager to discuss your problem. He may as well be the Pope. McGrath Acura of Downtown is a disaster! 7 months to refund MY money is just unacceptable! And who knows how long it will take for me to get the check since they sent the money to Bank of America. It just blows my mind! This is my 16th car. 13 of those I purchased through dealerships (this is my 5th Acura). This is the only problem like this I've ever had with any dealership. It just boggles my mind how bad they are. I won't buy another car there. I won't go there for service. I won't even go there for a car wash. Not one red cent will they get from me. Fortunately there are a many better options in the Chicago area. If you want to be treated well, find another Acura dealership. This is not the place. I strongly encourage you to keeping shopping! Worst experience with pre owned Acura sales team. One would expect better service from Acura dealership. But not here. They were typical used car sales people who had zero interest in your situation. Aft would expect better service from Acura dealership. But not here. They were typical used car sales people who had zero interest in your situation. After confirming with the duty manager we made a trip for a test drive only to find out the car we were there to test drive was not available. Scheduled appointment for next day to find out the car was still not available. On a 3rd day after confirming the car will be available for test drive, we found out it was sold. No sorry, no remorse, no “we can help you find another car” from this sales team. They simply did not care. I would not ever go back to this dealership. More
Have had my RDX in for service a few times and never a bad experience. The most recent one (yesterday) was for the info system. The part was not available at this dealer but they assured me they would hav bad experience. The most recent one (yesterday) was for the info system. Suggested, but did not pressure, some additional maintenance, it would have been needed in the next month in any event. Got my SUV as promised and everything is fine. More
I had leased a 2018 Acura ILX back in April of 2018. Since then, I have had 6 incidents of the battery dying with no reason. 3 of those incidents, I had to use roadside assistance to help jump the car. Of those 3 and the last incident, it wasn't even able to be jumped and it had to be towed to McGrath Acura where I leased the vehicle from to be fixed. While being serviced, Sam was assigned to my vehicle's service visit. When being informed that the vehicle had been fixed, I asked for clarification that this would be included under warrant, since it is a lease with warranty, in which he failed to even respond to. When I got to the dealer, the cashier requested that repairs were $200 in which they very clearly knew that my vehicle was still under warranty. Instead of an apology for the multiple massive inconveniences the vehicle has caused, they knowingly try to stick me with a bill hoping I would pay knowing very well that it was covered. The car itself has already been a nightmare and the dealer experience has been even worse. If you are looking for an honest, transparent, and customer first dealership, I would certainly suggest looking elsewhere. More

Had a flat on Mobile’s gas pump. After calling for roadside assistance, it took 30 minutes for tow. The dealership called after receiving vehicle with information on problem.
