ONLINE BUYERS BEWARE. I was a first time car buyer needing to find a vehicle quickly because my current one had broken down. I found a beautiful Acura online through TrueCar and was contacted by a sal needing to find a vehicle quickly because my current one had broken down. I found a beautiful Acura online through TrueCar and was contacted by a sales rep Angel from Chicago. I had no idea what i was getting myself into as I was out of state and never bought a vehicle myself. My communication with Angel was brief and he preferred to communicate through text on his personal number instead of speaking on the phone which I thought was odd and a little unprofessional. But that wasn’t that big of a deal to me. The problems arose when I would try to reach him by phone and he would say he’s too busy or I would leave a message for him to call me and he wouldn’t. Luckily, I was able to have the car shipped after sending in paperwork but once the car arrived I had to call and ask for a temp registration. Why they didn’t send the vehicle with one is beyond me. I couldn’t drive the car for the first few days. I was then given a temp tag through email that expired in a month. The whole process was incredibly confusing and he never had specific answers or details. After numerous texts back in forth I was told I would need to handle it. I had to google and call my local DMV several times in order to figure out what I needed to do to get the car registered. Then after a few weeks I was told they were handling my license and registration. At this point I was texting Angel once a week asking what the process was for getting my vehicle registered before the temp expired. I was promised It was processing and I didn’t need to worry. After several follow ups on my end, He finally gave me the information to the licensing office a week before my temp expired in which they told me they weren’t able to process it themselves because of my States laws. The day before expiration they finally sent me the paperwork to get the car registered. Sue from that office was great and understood the urgency. I spent WEEKS believing I may have been scammed because of the lack of communication and urgency. I was so frustrated and upset with the lack of clarity and absolute disregard for my time. I’m not sure if it’s because I was out of sate or because I’m a woman or both. The excuse was always theres a power outage or Covid which I completely understand but I just wish they would communicate that instead of me having to follow up a million times before they give me an explanation of why their response/action was taking so long. I will never purchase from them again and I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone. More
Just had my 2020 TLX in for its first service & it went smoothly. Greeted immediately when entering the service lane, with a masked service associate. He was very friendly. Asked my husband & I if we knew smoothly. Greeted immediately when entering the service lane, with a masked service associate. He was very friendly. Asked my husband & I if we knew were the waiting area was. We helped ourselves to free coffee and a newspaper and sat comfortably. No more than 3 minutes after we sat I received a text saying if I needed anything while waiting to please text & they would assist me. Excellent customer service. Car was done within an hour and we were walked to our freshly washed car and that was it. All in all as pleasant of an experience as you can have getting your car serviced. More
