I don’t think my car was actually inspected when I bought it. Way too many problems for a new car. Appointments booked too far out and never any loaner cars. On October 5th, my 2018 Mercedes Benz E400 Station Wagon went on fire right after I picked it up from the MB Dealership in Beaverton, where I took it for a regular service (A service + Replace Spark Plugs+R went on fire right after I picked it up from the MB Dealership in Beaverton, where I took it for a regular service (A service + Replace Spark Plugs+Replace Engine Air Filter). "Right after" means driving the car 5 miles from the dealership to my house (15 minutes or less drive, no stops). When I arrived home, I started to see smoke coming out of the hood and decided to park the car on our driveway and not inside; after 3 minutes I saw the first flames and 2 minutes later the car was on fire. The fact that I parked outside and the quick response of the firemen team avoided that the flames reached my house. Nobody was injured, in spite of a piece of the engine that exploded and flew 60 yards down our street. Since the incident, I have only received one call from Mercedes USA asking me to fill a report. I asked MB USA and MB Beaverton what I could expect to compensate me for this event and I have received no answer. The dealership has not contacted me during all this time, they have not asked if I needed anything (ie. a loaner car), they have not even refunded me for the cost of the service... Nobody in Mercedes Benz (Corporate or Dealership) has had the decency and professionalism to deal with a situation created by their own negligence. So, if you are thinking of buying a luxury car, perhaps you want to consider if Mercedes Benz is the brand that will provide you the type of car service and customer service you are looking for. More
Andrew Jones, your service advisor did an excellent job and went above and beyond to make sure that my B Service would be completed in time for me to make my doctor appointment. I was amazed that Chris the service manager took the time to call and explain answers to my questions a week after the sale. You would think that purchasing a car over $62000 would include a full tank of gas, but that was not the case; I would have expected a high class dealer like Mercedes-Benz to provide similar customer servi include a full tank of gas, but that was not the case; I would have expected a high class dealer like Mercedes-Benz to provide similar customer service as my last car purchase at the local Toyota dealership. Very disappointing. Mr. Murphy was blunt with his answer and provided no customer satisfaction regarding this issue. Felt like he didn't care as we had already signed on the dotted line so why would he offer any compensation for less than a full tank. Also was not asked which license plate I wanted for my car during the transaction, when I thought about it the next day an inquired about a specific custom plate Mr. Do said it was not available; until I pushed more about it is in fact available through the DMV so why would he not be able to access it? Wouldn't you know it, he magically said he could get it after all. So weird. More
