Melissa, This was your first visit to our service department, and we take every guest's concern seriously. After a full review of your vehicle and our facility, we found no evidence that our car wash caused any damage. Our wash equipment was professionally serviced last week and processes over 100 vehicles per day—including service, pre-owned, and loaner cars—without a single related damage claim. Your 2025 GLA 250 was purchased pre-owned after being used in Mercedes-Benz of Westminster’s loaner fleet since March 14, 2025. It has no clear mask or paint protection film, leaving it exposed to normal road debris throughout its prior use and during your ownership. The pitting and chips you pointed out are consistent with that, not with car wash damage. Our Service Director offered to assist with the light swirl marks as a goodwill gesture, and we also reached out to MBUSA, who offered a one-month payment reimbursement during your warranty repair. We understand you were upset, but recording our staff and making threats during your visit created an uncomfortable environment. We expect the same respect for our employees that we extend to our guests. We stand by our findings, and our corporate partners are aware and supportive of our conclusion. I have lots of supporting evidence that my new car was damaged while in your possession in the service department. I keep getting the same generic response from you claiming it wasn’t the car wash etc. weather it was the car wash or whatever caused the damage it happened while in your care. Emily Caldwell you are handling this situation very unprofessionally and just saying whatever to deny it. No manager or upper management has even returned my call or had me come in to observe the damage other than Chris who immediately denied anything after looking over the car for just about 1 minute. He began arguing with me and was acting angry that I brought it to his attention so I recorded his behavior with my phone. Then I got an email from you with a snide and offensive comment claiming I threatened your staff which is untrue and defamatory. I’m happy I recorded it to prove I never threatened anyone. I’ve never dealt with the level of unprofessionalism and client abuse as I have dealt with at your dealership and I’ve bought a lot of cars in my day and even from some seedy used car lots when I was younger that was more professional than your dealership.

I do appreciate you replying and I’m pleased to hear about your change in management. Emily is welcome to reach out to me if need be. However, when this service failure occurred I escalated the issue to your ownership at Sonic Automotive and they were also less than helpful and failed to appreciate the unacceptable behavior by the GM (at the titme, Mr. Minnick) and the Service Manager so I stand by my review and the concerns expressed.
