Before purchasing a 2022 Mercedes-Benz S 500, I paid Mercedes-Benz of Naperville to perform a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI). They gave the car a completely "all green" bill of health, assuring me it was flawless. Based on their report, I bought the car and had it shipped to me. Immediately upon arrival, the car was making noise. I took it straight to a local Mercedes-Benz dealership by my house, and they uncovered a long list of severe mechanical and structural issues, including cracked wheels and active leaks. There is absolutely no way Naperville missed these glaring, serious defects. They outright falsified the PPI. When I confronted the Naperville service manager about this, instead of taking accountability, he actively tried to cover it up. I escalated the matter to the General Manager, who has completely ignored my communications and never even called me back. They are entirely unethical, unaccountable, and demonstrate zero integrity. Mercedes of Naperville is owned by a parent company out of Florida so everything runs through Auto Nation. Any negotiations run through Auto Nation, which means there aren't really any to be had. The purchase included a 120 point certification of the vehicle. After I purchased my vehicle I went to put gas in it for the first time & the gas cap release button did not work. Then I realized the knob for the lights was also not working. They are both in the same panel so thought it was a fuse. There was a limited warranty through Auto Nation so Mercedes of Naperville told me to take it to my local Jeep dealership in Wisconsin & it would be covered. Turns out only the gas cap release button ($800) was covered under the warranty. Was told by Mercedes of Naperville that they would cover the lights ($400). Upon the local Jeep dealership working on it they removed the panel & found that whoever worked on it at Mercedes of Naperville forgot to plug in the connector plug so there was no power to the panel. Amazing concept...plug something in & it works. Whoever did the 120 point inspection obviously didn't actually inspect the lights or gas cap release. My local Jeep dealership only charged me the $200 diagnostic fee instead of the full $1200 repair. Mercedes agreed to reimburse the $200 fee. Took 6 weeks plus & SEVERAL emails to actually get the check in hand! Not to mention 3 trips on 3 different days to the local Jeep dealership, which amounted to a full day of missed work. Mercedes of Naperville is lucky to have Ron as their salesman or this review would've been 1 star!!! More
