In a class of its own I recently needed to take my GL450 in for service and was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the service department was at fitting me into thei I recently needed to take my GL450 in for service and was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the service department was at fitting me into their schedule. I live about 70 miles away so I really appreciated knowing that I had a firm slot for the repairs. This was just the tip of the iceberg however, when I arrived, I was greeted courteously and given a fresh cup of coffee and escorted to the waiting area. Within minutes of settling in, a gentlemen from the dealership stopped by to welcome me and asked if he could take me someplace else in the courtesy van. I declined, but really appreciated the offer. Someone from the service depart stopped by after about 30 minutes to give me an update on the repairs and provided me with fresh coffee and to ensure that I had everything I needed. As it turned out the repairs were more extensive than originally anticipated. When they stopped to let me know this, they informed me that they had already arranged a loaner vehicle and it was ready to go. Within 5 minutes I was on my way back home in a new GLC300. I have had a couple experiences where the loaner provided was in such poor condition that you were a bit embarrassed to be seen driving it - to the contrary, we got numerous complements and have even added the GLC300 to the short list of next vehicles! The dealership called twice at home to update me on the repair work and to arrange a convenient time to pick up the vehicle. I don't think anyone enjoys taking your car in for repairs but this experience far exceeded my expectation. More
