MetroWest Hyundai responded

Our service dept put new engine in a vehicle that he didn't buy from us two years ago. He then drove 30,000 miles with it and got into an accident about a year ago which caused his engine issues. Customer had an extended warranty which we used to get them to pay for new engine again which the warranty company denied due to the accident.

MetroWest Hyundai responded

We are very sorry that this happened. What occurred was that the RMV had not processed the VIN of your car yet to allow it to be registered which is why it required you to come back on that Tuesday and couldn’t take physical delivery as originally planned. On new cars, the manufacturer supplies that information to the RMV and they input it to their database as a valid vehicle since there isn't an existing title already on a brand new vehicle like there would be for a pre-owned one. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to know that until we attempt to register it which is why we had to send a representative on an in-person trip to the RMV with the physical Certificate of Origin from Hyundai to complete your registration.
