Epic Fail (service center) This was my first (and last) visit to MetroWest Subaru. I thought I’d give them a try because I liked the convenience of their extended service center This was my first (and last) visit to MetroWest Subaru. I thought I’d give them a try because I liked the convenience of their extended service center hours. As such, I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation, and battery check. They were booking appointments three weeks out when I called which probably should have been a red flag right there as some places will just let you pull in without an appointment for basic/routine services. I arrived at 3:30 PM for my 4:00 PM appointment and was checked in at the service bay. They took down the mileage, confirmed the services I had requested in advance, and documented the condition of the car with an iPad. I was then sent upstairs to the waiting area. By 5:30 PM I started thinking it was taking longer than it ought to and had not been checked on by anybody. By 6:15 PM I went back down to the service counter to check on the progress of the work. To my disbelief, they had no record in the computer of me or my car being there. This, despite the fact that the appointment had been on the books for 3 weeks and that I was physically checked in and on site. Behind the counter, the service representatives looked at each other slack-jawed, stymied by their own incompetence and unsure where to point the finger of blame. They had no answers for what had happened. They did offer to get started on the work and do it for free but by that time I had been there for almost 3 hours and had no confidence in the place so I declined the offer and walked out. I left there feeling betrayed, frustrated, and furious. This was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had (for anything...not just cars). I suggest steering clear of this place. More

They could have sold me anything to h Alex helped me in the service department. I drove in with a screeching and rattling. I was fearing the worst. They could have sold me anything to have the noises stop. Alex explained to me with language that I could understand that the technician found it was merely a pebble which got caught by a plate with the brakes and the rattling was just the heat shields. All of which they could take care of on that visit. I did have to wait a couple of hours but overall I was extremely happy with the service that Alex and Chris the service manager provided. More

When I went in I worked with Adam and he was very understanding of our situation and he let us know they were full but would get it done as quick at he could. the est wait time was 2hrs. He showed us to the waiting room where we got coffee, (and the massage chairs are Wonderful FYI!!) and no lie, Adam called us down in 45mins that he was able to get the car done!! Brought in for a recall and walked out with a bill Came in for recall servicing, but of course they found other problems. I could fix the others myself, but one problem was a torn cv boot, which is a messy, annoying job, so I had them fix it. They charged for 2 hours labor even though the total time in the dealer, including "free" car wash, was less than 2 hours. So, it took $240 to get an $80 part installed (and I could have gotten an OEM boot online for $30). They also left a ton of grease on the underside of the engine from the torn boot even though they said my car would catch on fire from the grease if I didn't get the boot fixed. So, I had to climb under the car myself when I got home and wipe it all down from underneath. The kid that tried to explain the problem and took my money knew nothing. If you need any information, figure out how to talk to someone higher up. More
Despite 100% satisfaction with my 2013 Legacy, my A/C recently stopped blowing cold air, so I brought it to MetroWest Subaru for service. Overall, it was an excellent experience - and I rarely say that a recently stopped blowing cold air, so I brought it to MetroWest Subaru for service. Overall, it was an excellent experience - and I rarely say that about any interactions with car dealerships. MetroWest's service department can get very busy sometimes, but once you get an appointment, they treat you like family. I was able to get an appointment within a few days. I dropped my Legacy off in the morning and was given a brand new, very clean, top-of-the-line Forester (i.e., navigation, panoramic moonroof, HD radio, etc.) to drive as a free loaner for the day. By late morning, I received a call informing me that they had diagnosed the problem (bad A/C compressor) and would order the part for delivery that day. They expected to receive the part by 3PM and would be able to finish the work by 5PM. Like clockwork, I was told that the car was ready at 5PM. Since I work late, they told me that I could pick up my keys from anyone in the sale department until 7:45PM, which was very convenient. When picking up the car, I was in and out in 5 minutes and the A/C worked perfectly. Altogether, it was one of the easiest interactions that I've had for service over many years of car ownership. I am very happy that I bought a Subaru, and even happier that I can go to MetroWest Subaru for service. More
