I have been a loyal customer at Michael Bates since they opened. I have not had any issues until one of my vehicles broke down and I had it towed in. They had my car for 2 weeks at which point I chose to opened. I have not had any issues until one of my vehicles broke down and I had it towed in. They had my car for 2 weeks at which point I chose to tow it away to be serviced elsewhere. My disappointment lies in their lack of kind communication and inability to take responsibility when at fault or even just listen to the paying customer. I had to call multiple times to get answers. They always called back but with very limited information. It took days on end to get diagnostics done, thus the 2 weeks. I was charged a diagnostic fee over the phone in order to release the car to the tow company. That was fine, however I never received an emailed receipt. I emailed the service manager and she claimed she had to get it from the front desk and would email me the next day. That was 2 weeks ago. Today I went to get the receipt and express my disappointment to the dealership manager and the service manager. Sherry printed some kind of receipt right off her computer, no problem and had no explanation or apology for the delay. In addition, my battery was run down over the 2 weeks they had my car in their "care". I had to buy a new one because it was so run down it couldn't even be charged. They refused to reimburse me and blamed the weather even though I have heard from others this is a common occurrence out of their service department. Not for one moment did either manager take the time to understand my grievances or try to make it right. My family has bought/leased 8 cars over the past 10-15 years. We have referred friends to buy their cars there and I have always used their service department for my oil changes. No More!! Kindness and communication go a very long way. On my way out the manager commented on how I was neighbors with a former employee. She must have assumed I knew why he left. I do not. He sold me the car but I have no idea why he left and he is not my neighbor. That, I find was inappropriate. She also claimed she saw all the communication on the computer thus saying I am a liar. Of course the correspondence is there, what they aren't acknowledging is that I had to ask for it, only then would I get any information. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere!! More
