Dear theguy992116, I'm sorry to see that we let you down with our Appreciation invitation sale this past month. I would like to take this time to address your concerns and ask you to call me if I can be of assistance. The $10 Shop and Shop gift card to purchase a turkey was set up when Stop and Shop was selling turkeys for 58 cents per pound. At that time our customers could have purchased a 17 pound turkey for the $10.00. I only found out later that the promotion only ran for 2 weeks and the the same turkeys were $1.29 per pound. I realize that it would be difficult to find a 8 pound turkey and if you would have brought it to my attention then I would be happy to give you additional gift cards so you could get a larger turkey. Please call me at 860-347-7294 if you would like to do so. As for our $1 over invoice invitation sale, we did charge you exactly $1 over the invoice of the vehicle you purchased. If you remember, It was me who brought out to you the actual invoice with the Manufacturer's statement of origin(MSO)stapled to it.as you saw the $460 TDA charge is listed on the invoice and contributes to the invoice price. Our business is very similar to every franchisee that has to do business with a franchisor. Many different items are charged to us(our banks) by the franchisor in addition to the actual item that makes up our invoice cost.I can understand your feelings especially when there are many different 3rd party websites that claim they know the invoice cost.In reality, they don't have all the cost,some may use a disclaimer that there are additional cost but,many don't. Afterall, what do they really have to lose? Their sites only exist to sell advertising and memberships.They are not responsible if the number they give you is inaccurate.How many consumers would even take the time to go after them? Probably not that many. Middletown Toyota offered this sale to all of our own customers, not to deceive them but to offer a very aggressive deal and finish a very difficult year as best as possible.
