Every time I’ve done business with Mike Johnson Toyota in Hickory, NC, the experience has been excellent. Yesterday, I took my 2022 Toyota Corolla ( my third Corolla purchase since 2011), for a regular service appointment. Mr. Randy Quinn and his staff did an outstanding job! I can highly recommend this dealership. They make the process as simple and streamlined as possible and all staff, from customer service, to sales, management, service center, etc., have been great every time I’m there! I've been loyal and bought 2 vehicles from them. I've even suggested others to buy from them. Now my vehicle had an electronic issue that they have fixed but can't tell what the issue was. My total I've even suggested others to buy from them. Now my vehicle had an electronic issue that they have fixed but can't tell what the issue was. My total bill including towing was over $900. Initially they told me it was a rodent problem in which I don't have a roden tissue. Bad excuse. Then they told me the vehicle was improperly jumped off which this vehicle had never been jumped off since buying from them. Then supposedly it was the bus bar module gone bad that they had to replace. They wanted to replace the battery but I told them NO because the battery was fine. $200 diagnostic fee ($100/hr) $500 labor to replace a $50 part. $100 towing fee. I suggested they reset the ECM but according to the manager they did not do that and it was not in their notes that they did. I asked to see the defective part but the advisor said that it was shipped off to Toyota for testing and that there would be a core charge if I kept it... which I was not gonna keep... only wanted to see what it looked like. I know a thing or two about vehicles but this was straight up robbery. If I had the time to fix I would have but I didn't. Unfortunately I'll be paying this bill but I'll never go back to them again or refer anyone to them. Stay away from them... go somewhere else. A small car lot is better than this. More
