Without asking us, the person we worked with added an extended warranty that would have added another $4,500 to the overall cost of the vehicle. MOST dealerships ask before adding to make sure the purchasers want or don’t want the extended warranty. We were somewhat surprised by this and quickly declined the additional extended warranty. We should have been presented with the options prior to it being added to the contract. Also, he added a cost for key replacement. We had this removed as well. He also added Gap Insurance without asking. We didn’t and don’t need Gap Insurance. If it were me, I would advise the finance department that they need to discuss EACH item with the buyer(s), and let them decide beforehand, rather than pushing these extras on to them and expecting them to just say “yes” without really knowing or understanding what is going on. I think what they are doing is somewhat underhanded and unfair to the buyer(s). More
