BUYER BEWARE — 85+ HOURS TO RESOLVE A VEHICLE PURCHASE! My husband and I purchased a 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited from Monster Motors in Michigan for approximately $30,000. Shortly afterward, we discovered the rear AC did not work, the AC lines had previously been cut, and the undercarriage had extensive rust and corrosion. None of these issues were disclosed before the sale. What followed was an incredibly frustrating ordeal that consumed more than 85 hours of our time, including inspections, documentation, repeated negotiations, and travel between our home in Georgia and Michigan. Although Monster Motors initially agreed to unwind the original sale, management later reversed that position. We were told by sales manager Hayden that we either had to leave with a replacement vehicle or take back the original rusted Highlander. Even the replacement 2020 Highlander had issues, and we found ourselves negotiating over approximately $500 in repairs after everything we had already endured. Our experience with management, particularly General Manager Karley, was extremely disappointing. We found the process unnecessarily adversarial, communication inconsistent, and the level of customer care far below what we expected. To be fair, our salesman and the finance representative were pleasant and professional, and a few other employees were helpful. We genuinely appreciated their kindness. Ultimately, Monster Motors did resolve the situation, but a resolution does not erase the stress, inconvenience, and extraordinary effort required to get there. We were also dealing with the sudden death of a family member during this ordeal, making the experience even more difficult. My advice: Have ANY vehicle independently inspected, including the undercarriage, verify every advertised feature, and get EVERY agreement in writing. After spending approximately $30,000 and more than 85 hours trying to resolve this situation, we cannot recommend Monster Motors. Good customer service isn’t just about making the sale. It’s about standing behind what you sell and honoring your word when problems arise. More
I bought a vehicle from them and was told it had their 39 point inspection done. They drove it to me and was hit in the front before it even reached me. I still took delivery as they said damage will be paid point inspection done. They drove it to me and was hit in the front before it even reached me. I still took delivery as they said damage will be paid for. Within 2 days of receiving vehicle there a noticable vibration in the driveline. I tried multiple times to contact and was hung up on or never received a call back. Finally they agreed to take and diag vehicle. Called and messaged daily to find out issue. 3 days later they were able to inspect and attempt a repair. 5 days later they still have it with no clear diag or repair. Finally got a hold of service manager some days later and said he is submitting a request to warranty to have transmission replaced. 2 weeks later and no word on warranty claim. I ask for warrranty companys number to call myself. Come to find out they are trying to charge the aftermarket warranty that i didnt want, not the dealer provided 1 month 1,000 mile warranty. It has been well over a month since purchasing at this moment and still no vehicle..Stay Away More
The sell was great. We noted the hands-free hatch did not work and were told by Aiden no problem we will fix it. They tried to fix and could not, sent to local dealer, they also could not fix. Odd the vehicle is still under the original warranty. But it can not be fixed. Then it develops transmission problems. The vehicle has been in for repairs for 8 out of the roughly 40 days we have owned it, and is back in the shop again. All we are told is how sorry they are, but, we did not ask for a charter reference, we thought we were buying a reliable vehicle, a 2023 Yukon with under 26,000 miles at the time of purchase. At first we thought we had found a good place to purchase vehicles and told other positive things about our experience. No more we will not go back and will tell everyone we know they are simply only interested in the sale. More
I enjoyed my experience with Monster Motors in Jackson Michigan. Aiden Gamble was very friendly and I never felt pressured by him. I also met the owner CJ and he was very hospitable. Everyone there was Michigan. Aiden Gamble was very friendly and I never felt pressured by him. I also met the owner CJ and he was very hospitable. Everyone there was friendly and it didn't feel like a pressurized car dealership only there to push you into buying a vehicle. They were helpful as well. I did end up getting the vehicle of my deepest wishes. Thank you to all of you! Especially staying afterhours to close the deal. More
I recently tried to buy a 2021 tundra from this dealership and was very disappointed with the process. The truck was advertised at $38,876, which included a $1,000 financing discount. I was told sh dealership and was very disappointed with the process. The truck was advertised at $38,876, which included a $1,000 financing discount. I was told shipping to North Carolina (my home state) would be included if I financed. Later, the manager added $1,400 in extras I never agreed to and refused to remove the $800 LoJack that I did not want. When I pushed back on the $1,400 add-ons, they were removed — but suddenly shipping became $1,500 (or $500 to their other store in Tennessee). I also negotiated a $500 discount for repairs identified by a mechanic, but when the final numbers came through from the finance manager, that was ignored and the only discount was $250 off shipping to Tennessee. Between the hidden add-ons, shifting shipping costs, and changing agreements, the process felt misleading. Buyers should be very cautious — what is promised up front may not match what shows up on the final paperwork. More
I purchased a truck from this dealership on May 1st, 2025. While the truck itself was in good shape and priced well, everything else has been a headache. They added a $1,500 “package” that was never disclosed over the phone before I drove 4 hours across state lines from Kentucky to Tennessee. I only found out once I was sitting down to sign. They also assured me transferring the title and getting tags in Kentucky would be “no problem.” That couldn’t have been further from the truth. I had to spend hours on the phone explaining to them how Kentucky doesn’t require emissions inspections—and they still didn’t understand. I even had to get the sheriff’s department and county clerk involved just to walk them through how to handle the title properly. Eventually, they sent the title—but to the wrong county. That county had to mail it back to them, and now I’m still waiting for it to go to the right place. It’s now July 25th, my temporary tag expired June 30th, and I still can’t get a clear answer or even a consistent call back. I’m tired of chasing them down. Terrible follow-through and communication. I regret the purchase and would not recommend this dealership to anyone out of state. This is for the Knoxville Tn location but couldn’t find it. But there affiliated More

If I could give a 0/5 star rating I would. I bought a 2016 duramax not even a year ago with the best warranty they offered $2900. With the warranty you have to mainly take your vehicle there for service and repairs. I was there in June for an oil change and I wanted them to do an alignment as well. They did the oil change and told me they were unable to do alignment because my ball joint was broken, they would call me after the weekend with estimates and a date for repairs. I never heard back so after waiting a month I scheduled the appt myself which was somewhat booked out. I had a list of things to check. Anyways I get called and they say the ball joint is fine but I need an alignment and now new front tires. I was stunned because I had previously been refused an alignment due a broken ball joint that they diagnosed! My wires are now showing on my truck and I had to order a set of used tires for $200 and they said they would put them on for me for free ($40) and give me a deal on the alignment, also wanted me to pay $250 per tire! Manager wanted to give me a discount on $500 for 2 tires. I asked if they could just pay the $200 for my tires and at least do the alignment for free and I was told no even after reaching management. I was refused service due to them misdiagnosing my truck and never getting back to me and they act as if they did nothing wrong and can do nothing more for me. After purchasing a $50k truck and $3k warranty I expect to be treated better than this. I will not be returning to this company for anything unless it’s under warranty and even after that I will take it to my diesel mechanic and have them double check. What I was asking for was nothing to this company and instead of helping me lost a customer and I’ve already talked to others that have had horror stories here. Service manager couldn’t have cared less and happily turned me away. Next step is the BBB for these folks and me because this is just WRONG and now I’m paying Goodyear to put my tires on an do alignment and after hearing my story from this place he made an extra spot for me and gave me a deal! Many other shops said this is absolutely absurd! They won’t be held accountable and take responsibility for their mistakes when this company makes tons. More
