Rays inability to explain the reason for additional charges for a software update, especially since the update was never completed is one of my major concerns regarding my recent experience with your s charges for a software update, especially since the update was never completed is one of my major concerns regarding my recent experience with your service department. Prior to my visit, I encountered difficulties receiving and making calls while my phone was connected to my vehicle, resulting in static sound from the left speaker. While Apple CarPlay and all other features appeared to function correctly, I was informed that there would be additional charges for the software update diagnostics. The technician, Ray, mentioned that the $160 diagnostic fee was to be paid that day and that this would be in addition to any costs associated with completing the download, which were not clearly outlined. I found it troubling that the charges were contingent upon the technician’s assessment of how much time would be needed for the update, which felt rather indefinite, since the reason given why the software update wasn't completed could be because the internet was bogged down this time of day didn't sit well with me since it's now 4:30pm and I dropped my car off at 8:45 am. Given the circumstances, I was uncomfortable with the prospect of incurring this additional fee, especially since I was instructed to call back in two days to check if the update had eventually downloaded onto the SD card. I appreciated that another service personnel suggested waiving the diagnostic fee, acknowledging that the software issue was not a fault of mine.
