Unfortunately, I just had to have a specific car they had in stock, so it was my fault for trusting them. The salesperson was a pleasant person, but did not disclose information, even after requesting it. Responses I received glossed over the questions I had, basically giving me some vague and general answer. First red flag: they told me that “we do not have to provide documentation of inspections”, regarding the condition of the car, what the material condition was, etc. Second red flag: they do business over Venmo and text. It worked out in this case, but it seems very amateur. Third red flag: the salesperson I worked with did very little to show or provide any videos of the car. I kept hearing “we move over 300 units a month, trust me on my word that everything is in order”. It was only after pleading several times that I received a few 30sec clips of sideways video of the car I wanted. I didn’t know the car was tuned to stage two with an access tuner, map downpipe and catback until the car arrived at my place. I kept hearing “this car is very clean”, which was somehow supposed to provide me information that I wanted on the car, such as what has been modified. Fourth red flag: I was misled by Dorry the salesperson, during several conversations over the phone, I asked about taxes being included in the price. She explicitly told me that my state does credit for trade ins, and proceeded to tell me that since my trade in value was similar to the price of the car, it would only be a few hundred in taxes. Complete lie. I received the title after a few weeks, went to the title office and got hit with another $3500 tax. The title office told me that those credits only apply to new cars or with a MCO title. It is my fault for trusting this dealership, but my naivety can help prevent others from falling victim. When I asked Dorry regarding this matter, she then proceeded to tell me the tax credit laws that apply to my state. But previously she stated that the taxes would be minimal.
