Great Buying Experience I purchased a used Mercedes GLA250 last month and had a teriffice buying experience. James, our salesman, could not have been more helpful in helping I purchased a used Mercedes GLA250 last month and had a teriffice buying experience. James, our salesman, could not have been more helpful in helping me find the right vehicle. He listened and made sure all our our requirements were met. I also received fair and equitable treatment with my trade-in! All in all, a very low key and enjoyable experience. The whole transaction took less than 2 hours. More
Worst so called car dealership I've ever dealt with I left a message with the dealership on Sunday requesting additional information about a vehicle I was very interested in buying without even needing I left a message with the dealership on Sunday requesting additional information about a vehicle I was very interested in buying without even needing to look at. I was so motivated this morning to make a five hour trip to buy the vehicle that I called them the minute they opened on Monday morning at 9am. I spoke with who I believe was John and informed him that I was very interested in purchasing a certain vehicle and that I just needed to know the final cost of purchase after adding their fees because I was bringing cash in hand and I was very willing to pay what they were asking for the vehicle on the internet listing. He first told me that I would need to pay taxes on the vehicle even though I was out of state (which I knew in fact was not true since this was not my first rodeo). He also informed me that there were several of other people interested in the vehicle and there was no way I could put the vehicle on hold even if I wired him the cash before my arrival. He told me that he would have to check with his sales manager and would call me back in five to ten minutes. I told him that would be fine but I wanted to know as soon as possible so I could get on the road to make it their dealership before anyone else could beat me to the sale. Shortly thereafter, Chuck called me in response to my internet message left on Sunday. I went through the same scenario with Frank and was also told he would have to check with the Used Car Sales Manager and he would give me a call back in ten minutes. This was at 9am shortly after they opened their doors. I waited patiently until about 5pm and never received a response from either one of these so called sales people. I decided I'd try the internet message service again. Chuck called me back within five to ten minutes of my internet message. I explained who I was again and my first question was is the car still available? He responded that he had a busy day today but yes, the car was still available. No apology or nothing was expressed. I think he was expecting me to apologize to him for having such a busy day. I reiterated the fact that I was very interested in the vehicle but could not possibly make it there before he closed. He in turn told me there was no way he could hold the vehicle for me until the following morning but did finally provide me with the final cost of purchase which did not include my states sales tax but more than $100 in other BS fees. Having in mind that the so called dealership was going to be open for about four more hours, I asked him if he could please call me when the dealership closed for the evening so I knew if I still had an opportunity to make the purchase first thing in the morning. Keeping in mind that the dealership was open until 9 pm, I would have to go straight to bed after receiving this phone call and get up less than six hours later to make it to their so called dealership when they opened. You can only imagine what happened at 9 pm. You guessed it, no return phone call. I just wonder if the reason neither one of them were to concerned with returning phone calls to a very motivated seller was due to the fact that I was paying cash versus getting caught up in all of their financing charges involved. Needless to say, I wasted most of my day dealing with these so called sales people. I wasted my time making car reservations that included a one way drop off fee, going to the bank to get cash out and making arrangements for someone to travel with me considering the fact that I was dealing with very poor performing, so called sales people. A couple of things for certain after this awful attempt at a car buying experience is that I will never deal with Non-Motor-Werks again and that I will be taking my money to a real car dealership that is interested in making a sale, no matter what payment method I am offering. Follow up on 7/26/2017 Chuck finally got back to me while i was typing the review above. My phone was on the charger and I did not hear it ring because I had given up for th e evening. He texted and emailed as well and informed me the car was still there but there were a few tbings he wanted to inform me about the car. I immediately replied, whats wrong with the car? He replied back, oh nothing serious, just some brake chatter on the front end that needed to be addressed. I told him no problem at 8am my time and that I'd be there in about six hours to pick up the car. After renting a vehicle and driving five hours there I was very disappointed for wasting my time. It wss obvious at first glance that the low mileage Vette had been wrecked. The front bumper did not match the hood and only matched one of the flip up headlights. The rear end also had been repainted. My son and I pointed all of this out to Chuck and all he did was scratch his head and shrug his shoulders and state I don't know how that could be, it has a clean carfax report. After a closer view we discovered red paint on the windshield. I pointed it out to him and said you've obviously repainted the vehicle very recently. No response. Another sales person came out there just to scratch his head in disbelief as well. I told him thank you very much for wasting my vacation day from work and making a trip for nothing. More
Purchased a used truck, there were mechanical issues. I purchased a used truck at Motor Werks Cadillac in Barrington, also with the extended warranty. The truck was sold "as is" with no warranty. After o I purchased a used truck at Motor Werks Cadillac in Barrington, also with the extended warranty. The truck was sold "as is" with no warranty. After one week, I discovered that there was an excessive amount of oil that I was adding to the truck. I explained this to Brian Freeman the sales rep along with the Sales Manager Dan De La Font. Since I took out the extended warranty Dan had his team look at it. They fixed a few things but, the truck still continued to use an excessive amount of oil. Dan explained to me that this truck had been here prior to him coming on board. He had his team look at it again, taking a deep dive they discovered there was a major engine problem. This was explained to me by one of there service reps Scott Bartsch. Scott took me threw a step by step process of what was diagnosed on the truck. Dan went in my opinion, above and beyond to correct this problem. Dan found me another truck in similar value. He made sure that I received a truck that was in great shape, not only with exterior and interior looks but mainly the engine. This is the first time I've sent a review. I highly recommend Motor Werks Cadillac of Barrington to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. Sincerely Glenn Niezgoda More

I had a very specific check list in the vehicle I wanted to purchase and visited multiple dealerships only to be let down. My entire car buying experience was changed by Motor Werks. From the first moment I talked to Frank Fiore on the phone, he made the experience comfortable and pleasant. Frank is just a true gem-- I kind of want to just be friends with this guy-- that nice!! He took my initial call at 2 PM and by 5 PM, my purchase was completely handled and I didn't have to lift a finger. Frank is a class act, all around-- was kind, sincere, and most importantly, he got the job done quickly and correctly. Dan De La Font-- this man is a class act! He went above and beyond to obtain the best loan rate possible and with my best interest at heart. Truly, Motor Werks of Barrington, you have earned a customer for life!! I love my new ride and will be back to see you when I'm ready to purchase another!! THANK YOU!! More
easy, laid back experience I am from Sheboygan WI and all the paople at Motor Werks Cadillac made this experience very easy. Kim Krall the Internet manger does an amazing job g I am from Sheboygan WI and all the paople at Motor Werks Cadillac made this experience very easy. Kim Krall the Internet manger does an amazing job getting back to you quickly and is informative, we all have that perception of buying a car being similar to a 15 round fight. Kim did an excellent job of putting that thought process to bed. My wife and I arrived we were introduced to Kim and then are Sales Consultant John Hacket, again another very knowledgeable person helping us out. There was one thing we could not figure out and instead of being proud John went to get help, being in sales myself I know that can happen and I appreciated the fact he took the time to get us all a little help. Test drive was great the car was clean as close to spotless as you can get for a used car, Motor Werks pays close attention to the little details OCD people like me look at. John got busy with another customer so Dan De La Font the used car manager came over and just started chatting with my wife and I, turns out he had just became an avid camper and I work in RV Sales so it was a relaxing enjoyable conversation on his Springdale Camper. My wife and I ended up purchasing the 2008 Cadillac XRS V8 AWD, I was treated fairly on my F150 as a trade there numbers fell in the range of what I was hoping. I can honestly say it was worth all of the 2 hours to drive down for this vehicle and experience, I will buy every Cadillac I own from here on out from Motor Werks Cadillac of Barrington even though I have a Cadillac dealer here 10 minutes from my door. John, Kim, and Dan thank you for everything look forward to doing more business in the future. Apparently John is not listed in the names for stars he gets 5 STARS as well Joel M. More
Terrible Communicarions The first visit was to replace the driver side mirror. They were to check on parts and pricing and call. 2 weeks went by ... no call ... went elsewher The first visit was to replace the driver side mirror. They were to check on parts and pricing and call. 2 weeks went by ... no call ... went elsewhere and it was fixed the same day. A few weeks later I had the radio replaced. It worked 2 days and went dead. I took it in and they were going to call me in a few days to let me know when to bring it in for replacement. 2 weeks have passed... no call .... seems like a repeat of the mirror repair. I have a disagreement on a warranty issue. The service guy said he would have the sales manager call me ... no call ... I stopped to see the sales manager, he was busy with a customer but said he would call. Never happened. This seems to be a Cadallic Barrington problem. I have a Mercedes Benz and have had good results with service at the Werks South Barrington location. I have been a customer 35 years and can not wait to get the radio fixed and wave good-bye. More
deceptive business practice Just leased a car here last Saturday, and returned my previous leased car. Pushed to make an appointment so they could have vehicles ready. Carl would Just leased a car here last Saturday, and returned my previous leased car. Pushed to make an appointment so they could have vehicles ready. Carl would not try to meet my numbers but kept steering me to lesser vehicles that were courtesy cars with some miles on them. In his words so we can compare apples to apples. My lease price is for 12,000 miles a year but because the vehicle has 3450 miles on it, comes out to about 10938 a year. I am paying for mileage they used, while they would not forgive the miles over on my former lease. I asked about personalized plates, he stated he wasn't sure on how to do that. This was on a Saturday, the following day when I put my personal property in the car. realized there was no CD player(apples to apples). When I called him Monday he just stated that CD's are going the way of cassettes and eight tracks. Also on Monday reviewing the contract, I noticed a $595 deposition fee at the end of the lease term. This was not disclosed or agreed to me at the time. When I called and asked him about it, he said they're on all leases, then I told him it wasn't on my last lease. (apples to apples). Asked him to remove it or pay it, he said he couldn't, that they were "already losing money on the deal". Right! I said then lest kill the deal, I still have eight days left to find another one. He said state law he couldn't kill the deal because the car was already registered in my name. More
