Finance & Price Disaster, Unreported Front Collision, etc. High Level: Bill gets 2 stars… Dave gets 1. Car gets 5 stars Vehicle was offered online for thousands less than what I paid. Discovered that th High Level: Bill gets 2 stars… Dave gets 1. Car gets 5 stars Vehicle was offered online for thousands less than what I paid. Discovered that the vehicle had been in a front end collision prior to my purchase, leaving the front intelligent cruise control sensor needing replacement ($5k+) along with underside bumper/hardware damage - CarFax report upon purchase did not report the damage. Financing approval was a miscalculated, resulting in a $4k+ difference and a LOT of stress for me. ?? Details:?? I looked all over the country for a particular car which was very hard to find. Motor Works had one with just over 20k miles on it. Online, it looked fantastic and well-taken-care-of. I inquired of its availability, which is where my interaction with Bill started. I was quickly contacted by text, which was convenient for me. Bill’s responses were immediate and courteous. During my phone call(s) with him, I found him to be the same - Courteous and helpful, however I made the mistake of indicating that this vehicle was hard to find and that I was glad that they had one available. Because of this, there was absolutely no negotiation on price - He said “you told me yourself that the car is hard to find and that you are happy that we have one, so unfortunately we can’t negotiate on the price”. On the phone, he gave me a quote of $500 for my trade-in with no negotiation. It is now selling at a nearby dealer for nearly $4k. ??Financing was arranged ahead of time through the dealer (Dave) and all was good for the purchase. My two young kids and I made the 6 hour drive up there. Bill continued to return my texts quickly and professionally. We arrived at the dealer and were immediately greeted by him and his manager. They offered us each Starbucks coffee on the house. Very nice touch (even though my lid wasn't on tight and hot coffee spilled all over me). ??Bill showed us the Carfax report, which showed no accidents and was clean. We were not offered an opportunity for a test-drive and did not receive a copy of the CarFax report (although I had already downloaded a copy). We were then shown the vehicle which was in the tunnel. Looked great except for an annoying black mark that they place on the headlamp of their vehicles. With work, this comes off. We were then brought to the finance manager’s desk who had all the paperwork ready. Looked great initially but then were badgered to purchase an extended warranty. The disastrous results of this are a few paragraphs down, after we got the car home. ??We were absolutely thrilled to have this beautiful car. On the 6 hour drive home, I noticed a big issue right away - That the intelligent/adaptive cruise control was not working - It was not recognizing vehicles ahead of me. Another issue is that the “Infiniti Connection” feature that was advertised was not functioning. A call to Infiniti and they advised that it didn’t work because there is a mandatory upgrade of the Telematics unit in this vehicle if you want it to work. The cost to me would be $299. ??Once I arrived home, I brought the car to two separate Infiniti dealers in STL regarding the intelligent cruise control issue and a general well-being check. There is a sensor upfront that sends a laser/sonar beam ahead to detect other vehicles. Both local dealers indicated (and logged) the same thing… That the car had been involved in a front-end collision and that the sensor needed to be replaced because it is broken. Cost would be over $5k for the sensor alone!! Additional costs would be for the bumper and hardware underneath. This did not show up on the CarFax report. I thought that this was stressful, until I received a call from the finance manager saying that the bank approvals were $4k+ less than was finalized, thanks to the extended warranty (etc) add-ons. Dave wanted to know if I could just put it on a credit card right then and there. This was absolutely horrifying to hear and I mentioned that the car was several thousand dollars less online (noticed when I got home) and that maybe they could deduct from that. I also requested that the extended warranty be cancelled. Dave was going to check on the possibilities - I followed up MANY times and did not get a single reply from Dave! A text to Bill got me a reply that Dave would call me right away - Never happened. More than a week or two later and he contacts me saying that they cancelled the warranty and gave me more for my trade-in. No mention of the few thousand extra that I paid as a result of Bill not applying the online special price that was advertised (below). The issues here were stressful beyond belief for me. Dave could have at least called back to let me know a status… I mean really… how much effort does that take? I did not receive a single apology from Dave - In fact, he seemed irritated to have to deal with it. I’m sorry, but as a finance manager, this should not have happened. What an absolute disaster. ??One other issue that I was disappointed with: Bill would not negotiate on the price of the car when I first contacted him, however… When I got home, I saw that the car was still listed on their site and had an “internet special” which was several thousand dollars less than what I paid. Disgraceful?? Other than that, I love the car… It is outstanding and it gets compliments everywhere it goes. I seemed to be pushed for a review of the dealership right away - At the time I bought the car, all seemed okay. Had I been offered to test drive the car, I may have noticed this sensor/collision issue ahead of time. In the end, Bill gets 2 stars… Dave gets 1. Car gets 5 stars More

I scheduled an appointment with him later that evening. He was very kind and informative during my test drive. Less than two hours later, I left in my new vehicle!
