First BMW Prior to this experience with Motorworks BMW in Bloomington, I had never even sat in a BMW! I had just attended the Minneapolis Car Show and did a lo Prior to this experience with Motorworks BMW in Bloomington, I had never even sat in a BMW! I had just attended the Minneapolis Car Show and did a lot of internet research before narrowing my choice down to the 2018 BMW X1 and a Volvo XC40. On my first visit to Motorwerks, I was very impressed with their showroom and people like Colin Kacmarsky, the sales person I worked with. While driving the X1, I was impressed by the quiet cabin, the feel of driving it, the rear leg room and cargo space for vehicle of this size and the zip in the engine especially when in Sport Mode. In discussion with Colin, I learned that numerous options are available, many of which I wanted. Upon deciding to buy the X1, I chose a color and various options that was not available on any X1 in stock that day and had decided that if necessary I would custom order and wait for it to arrive from Germany. However, after some searching Colin found a similar one I liked with a few extra options in Cincinatti. I received my X1 less than a week later. It is a beautiful vehicle that is fun to drive in a very comfortable cabin and the Harmon Kardon stereo is great! Within the next week, I will be doing an “encore” at Motorwerks to get some questions answered and learn more about my X1. My only disappointment is that it is not possible to get the X1 with blind side detection, which in 2018 is difficult to believe for such an important safety feature on a luxury compact vehicle. I will be adding an after market blind side detection system. As a footnote, I did not visit other BMW dealers because I enjoyed working with Colin and Motorwerks had a sale with $5,000 off the MSRP.
