Claude, I looked back at the deal which was three years ago. The selling price of the Escape you purchased which had only 5900 miles on it at the time was better than competitive, I would be happy to show you the minimal profit we made. Unfortunately, no dealer has control over the volitale trade value market these days. With rebates soaring and falling over the course of a market year, it's amazing to me that we maintain any consistency in trade values at all. I've tried to call on the number we had at the dealership, but that number has been disconnected. I would very much appreciate an opportunity to work out a trade with you to your satisfaction. I did think the part about your lady friend being greatly influenced by me was a little over the top but I'll take that as a comliment. :) I will assure you that $6,000 of negative equity in today's market is not only "not" unusual, it is very common.
