Murdock Auto Group started in 1982 with the opening of our Murdock Chevrolet store in Bountiful Utah. In 2005 with the purchase of our first Hyundai dealership in Orem, Utah , Murdock Hyundai began. In 2006 we purchased our Logan dealership and in 2008 we bought the Salt Lake City store . For our Hyundai dealerships our goal was simple, have a Murdock Hyundai in every neighborhood. Now we want more, we want a Murdock Hyundai in every driveway. My Experience I went into Murdock Hyundai looking for a new car and hoping to find what I was looking for. They didn't have the one I really wanted in this particular location. They found the car that I was looking for at another dealership about 4 hours away. They arranged to have the car I wanted transferred to their lindon location that night and it would be available for me to view the very next day. all of this being done with no pressure and in trying to find what I was looking for. Needless to say the car was there and looked amazing and I got a great deal on it. It was an amazing experience and ill be buying my fiancé a new car at this dealership in the spring of 2016 for sure. More

Best car buying experience! Our last car buying experience made us never want to purchase a car from a dealer again. That dealership is known for listening to their customers and they didn't hear a word we said. We felt pressured into purchasing our last car and were never satisfied with it. We finally decided it was time to trade it in. We met with Derick Thorn, who was very friendly and excited to help us find exactly what we were looking for. He gave us many options to choose from in our price range, and was able to help us decide if we wanted to lease or buy. We purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and were given a reasonable trade offer for our 2005 Nissan Murano. We love our new car and it was honestly the best car buying experience! More

I hate car dealerships Every time I've set foot on a dealership lot, I cringe at how pushy the salespeople are. It's like having an open wound in shark-infested waters. If you want to walk around a single vehicle or *gasp* open the door and look inside, they're asking you to sign an agreement to buy that car "if they can get you the monthly payment you want." -It's crazy. This expectation of mine was shattered while dealing with Murdock Hyundai of Lindon. I found a car online that I was super interested in, and instantly called and reached two kind and helpful salespersons. I made an appt (via text) for early the next morning, and when I arrived had the most low-pressure and pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. I've owned about 15 cars in my life, and usually avoid dealerships altogether if I can. After this last experience, I might exclusively shop at Murdock. I absolutely recommend this place! More

I liked the selection they had here and feel I got a good deal on my new sonata turbo. A little bit of an issue with the overall price, thought the deal we agreed on originally was out the door, tax and fees didn't get thrown in until the end so a little misleading. Consistently Ripped Off by Murdock Hyundai I purchased a pre-owned Mazda CX-7 from Murdock Hyundai in Lindon. When I drove the car home my neighbor noticed a rattling noise coming from the engi I purchased a pre-owned Mazda CX-7 from Murdock Hyundai in Lindon. When I drove the car home my neighbor noticed a rattling noise coming from the engine. I took the car to my mechanic the next day & he told me the timing chain needed to be replaced. I brought the car back to Lindon where I was told that timing chains do not stretch & it did not need to be replaced. After hours of talking in circles I took the car home again & told them I will stop payment on my check. I told them they can have their Mazda & I would like my old car back. They threatened me with police & felony charges & basically coerced me into keeping the Mazda regardless of the condition they sold it to me in. Almost 6 weeks later the turbocharger went out. I had the car towed to Murdock Hyundai in Murray because I had lost all faith in the Lindon location regarding their honesty as well their knowledge of cars since they had been so forceful with their assertion that the car was fine except for a little sludge on the engine. The Murray location said they can repair the timing chain & turbo charger for about $4000. I tried to talk to the service manager there in hopes that they could give me a discount or some kind of deal on the repairs because of the disgraceful manner that the Lindon location handled the sale but that has not worked out. Exhausted of this whole charade I agreed to these repairs as well as financing $1200 of the repair price. After looking at the car to do those repairs they now tell me the car also needs a new engine so the repairs will be about $7000. I said I do not want any repairs because that is ridiculous - there is no way I can afford that. As of February 25, 2015, I have a $1200 bill with the first payment due next week for services that I do not want nor have any of those services been done. There isn’t much I can do since I still owe money on the car that I was able to drive for less than 6 weeks. My husband passed away shortly before I bought this car and I used the last money I had for a down payment. I am truly disappointed that the no regrets dealer took advantage of a widow with 4 young sons just to make a few dollars and they continue to do so. The one star I gave is for Karl Miller the only person I have spoken to at Murdock Hyundai that appears to have a conscience. UPDATE: 3/30/15: After posting my reviews on Facebook, Dealerrater & Yelp, Blake Murdock of Murdock Hyundai in Murray contacted me & was able to have the $1200 charge reversed within just a couple of days. I also met with Blake Murdock at the dealership & ended up purchasing a 2013 Hyundai Elantra which I expect will be a reliable vehicle. I am pleased with my new vehicle as well as the service I received from the Murray location. More
