Frustrating If they are selling a car all is well, but if your car has serious issues watch out because they aren't going to help you. Our engine has failed twice If they are selling a car all is well, but if your car has serious issues watch out because they aren't going to help you. Our engine has failed twice in the LESS then two years since we owned it and getting reasonable help is futile. Originally even getting our title was challenging and we were lucky it was because when our engine failed the first time we still didn't have the title so they fixed it knowing they were in the wrong. Now 15 months later the same issue has occurred and they won't help us, won't return calls, and the General Manager won't speak to us. Would NEVER go here again. Regret that I ever did. I submitted an e-mail to the general manager and finally got a reply. He was kind and able to get us more accurate information then any of his staff he had delegated to. Although it will probably be a long time, if ever, before I buy a Hyundai in general and I will probably not return to this dealership, I did want to make sure that my review was completely accurate. Paul Tew was kind over the phone and did try to work with us. In the end it was still beneficial for us to get the car fixed somewhere else and it's frustrating that no one told us more details about buying an updated warranty when our car had engine trouble the first time. We were told that the engine was dead and we needed to buy a new one. We decided to look into a used car. I was hesitant about picking up another car payment. Spencer made sure I was happy with my purchase and was not pushy at all. He made me feel like he truly cared about my feelings and how stressed I was. They got us into the perfect car for the perfect price. I am so happy with this company. I will recommend this company and Spencer and Mason! More

I had to replace a gas sensor and w Friendly staff but they take way to long, even with an appointment. My oil changes usually take a least an hour. I had to replace a gas sensor and was told to bring in the car at 9am and was told it would take 2-3 hours. 3 n half hours later no call. So I call to get an update but the manager was w/ a customer. I was told he would call me, an hour later no call so I called back and found out that my car had not been even working on until 12:30 and that an employee had a health problem was the reason for the delay. But no one called me to let me know that my car would be delayed. They did offer me some free oil changed but if I didn't push a little bit i wouldn't have been given anything. this isn't the first time I have left frustrated More

While I was I always thought it was so cool for a dealership to offer to wash your car whenever you wanted to, and one afternoon that's why I went in. While I was waiting for my car to be finished, I noticed pamphlet about the new cars, looked at them, and saw one I really liked and wanted to see in person. I went up front and talked to Jonathan Williams about it. I told him up front I was only curious about what the car looked like and that I wasn't even considering buying a new car right then. However, he took me for a ride in a similar model, arranged to have the car I was looking at brought from another dealership so that I could drive it. I didn't go in that night to buy a new car, but thanks to Jonathan, and all the extra time and attention he took to find out about me and what I really wanted, I went home last night with a car that I can't imagine ever being without. It answered all my needs and had options I never thought I would ever own. To top it all off, I would consider Jonathan a friend and I have already told three people to talk to him when they're looking to buy. More

Service department issues Run, don't walk away from this dealership if a good, friendly service department is important to you. Customer service is definitely lacking in the w Run, don't walk away from this dealership if a good, friendly service department is important to you. Customer service is definitely lacking in the way they take care of their customers after the sale is made. When they couldn't do what we paid them to do, they refused to refund us the money. All this while our car is under bumper to bumper warranty. I might come from a different philosophy of doing business, but charging someone for something that should be covered in a warranty, and then not fixing it is not an honest thing to do. My computer guy only charges me to fix my computer if he can fix it, and if he can't, there is no charge, regardless of how long he took to look at it. I can't believe that I payed them to render a service for me and no service was actually rendered. More

When I drove the car home my neighbor noticed a rattling noise coming from the engine. I took the car to my mechanic the next day & he told me the timing chain needed to be replaced. I brought the car back to Lindon where I was told that timing chains do not stretch & it did not need to be replaced. After hours of talking in circles I took the car home again & told them I will stop payment on my check. I told them they can have their Mazda & I would like my old car back. They threatened me with police & felony charges & basically coerced me into keeping the Mazda regardless of the condition they sold it to me in. Almost 6 weeks later the turbocharger went out. I had the car towed to Murdock Hyundai in Murray because I had lost all faith in the Lindon location regarding their honesty as well their knowledge of cars since they had been so forceful with their assertion that the car was fine except for a little sludge on the engine. The Murray location said they can repair the timing chain & turbo charger for about $4000. I tried to talk to the service manager there in hopes that they could give me a discount or some kind of deal on the repairs because of the disgraceful manner that the Lindon location handled the sale but that has not worked out. Exhausted of this whole charade I agreed to these repairs as well as financing $1200 of the repair price. After looking at the car to do those repairs they now tell me the car also needs a new engine so the repairs will be about $7000. I said I do not want any repairs because that is ridiculous - there is no way I can afford that. As of February 25, 2015, I have a $1200 bill with the first payment due next week for services that I do not want nor have any of those services been done. There isn’t much I can do since I still owe money on the car that I was able to drive for less than 6 weeks. My husband passed away shortly before I bought this car and I used the last money I had for a down payment. I am truly disappointed that the no regrets dealer took advantage of a widow with 4 young sons just to make a few dollars and they continue to do so. The one star I gave is for Karl Miller the only person I have spoken to at Murdock Hyundai that appears to have a conscience. UPDATE: 3/30/15: After posting my reviews on Facebook, Dealerrater & Yelp, Blake Murdock of Murdock Hyundai in Murray contacted me & was able to have the $1200 charge reversed within just a couple of days. I also met with Blake Murdock at the dealership & ended up purchasing a 2013 Hyundai Elantra which I expect will be a reliable vehicle. I am pleased with my new vehicle as well as the service I received from the Murray location. More

I work just across the street from the We purchased our car from the Lindon Murdock dealership and got htem to throw in the oil change express pass. I work just across the street from the dealership and normally drop the car off mid morning and pick it back up on my way home. NEVER once have the offered to drive me back to work, even during rain and snow storms. The say they will clean the car for you whenever... sure with a hose and they dont' really clean it just rise it off, no vacuum or wiping of the windows. The part that really upset me was that at less than 30k miles i had to purchase 4 brand new tires and the service team neglected to tell us that there was some major wear on the inside of the tire. This caused our Tucson to pop a tire and needed to be towed over 50 miles back to the dealership on to have to argue that they failed to do thier job. Took the car back for another oil change and recall work, asked to have the filters changed expecting to pay for the filters which were a total of $37 however they felt so inclinded to add service fees costing me a total of $70 out the door. Now I expect some kinda of service fee but nearly what the parts cost on something so simple? Also the ripped my seat and now needs to go back in for another repair. Staff is VERY unfriendly and rude. Girls at the pick up counter have no clue what is going on ever. More
I will NEVER visit Murdock Hyundai of Lindon again We have been loyal customers of Murdock Hyundai, and have purchased our last two vehicles from this dealer. I am so disappointed in the recent qualit We have been loyal customers of Murdock Hyundai, and have purchased our last two vehicles from this dealer. I am so disappointed in the recent quality of service, and attitude of the general manager. Long story short, we had very expensive AC repairs performed, and 13 months later the same problems occurred again. The general manager, Paul Tew, met with us, but would not listen to our concerns and accused us of wanting free repair. I kept explaining to him that this is not the case, and I only wanted them to pay the diagnostic charge. Again, he countered with accusations of us that are simply not true, and was very belittling to me and my wife. The general manager did not want to listen to us or even value us as customers. If this is the new norm for Murdock Hyundai of Lindon, then I will never give them my business again. More
