Kate and I negotiated the deal ahead of time via email, and when I arrived at the dealership and met Dave, the numbers matched exactly what we had agreed to- no surprises, no added accessories, and no last-minute changes. Dave was great to work with throughout the process. He was respectful of my time, easy to communicate with, and made sure everything moved efficiently. I was in and out with my new car in about two hours, which I really appreciated. I also want to highlight how straightforward the finance portion with Shamoun was. The available warranty and protection options were explained clearly, but there was no pressure to purchase anything additional. When I declined something, they were extremely respectful and moved on without any pushback, which made the experience feel very low-stress. They also honored the trade-in value we agreed on and have continued to be communicative and helpful with a couple of follow-up items after the sale. Overall, this was THE MOST human, honest, and efficient car-buying experience I’ve had or heard of. Sold Us a Defective Vehicle with Known Issues – Complete Lack of Accountability I purchased a used 2018 VW Atlas from Napleton Honda of Morton Grove on August 19, 2025, and it has been nothing but problems Lack of Accountability I purchased a used 2018 VW Atlas from Napleton Honda of Morton Grove on August 19, 2025, and it has been nothing but problems and deception since day one. The finance manager pushed the "Platinum" extended warranty hard, promising nationwide repairs at any certified shop with full coverage minus a $200 deductible. No paperwork was given at closing—claimed "computer issues," said it would be emailed. We trusted the verbal assurances. Within months the car overheated due to water pump failure. I later discovered the dealership's own internal repair order (RO #7007568 from July 26, 2025—before our purchase) documented the exact same issues: overheating, faulty auxiliary coolant pump, bad thermostat, leaking water pump, oil leaks, and valve damage. None were properly fixed or disclosed to us. After partial warranty coverage, I paid $593 out-of-pocket for repairs at an independent shop. The work was incomplete—the car failed immediately after pickup (auxiliary pump fault, coolant loss, major oil leak). Now undrivable, costing me $1,875 in rentals and $450 in extra towing (total out-of-pocket over $5,000 and counting). The dealership accused us of causing damage that was already there pre-sale, tried to overcharge $1,500 for a known oil leak, ignored over 14 calls, and the General Manager ignored me from January 6 to January 28, 2026. His February 11 email response conveniently omitted any mention of the pre-sale repair order. This feels like deliberate concealment and misrepresentation. As a cancer patient in recovery, the stress and financial hit have been overwhelming. Avoid this dealership. They hide known defects, misrepresent warranties, provide zero support after the sale, and leave customers stranded with lemons. I have filed complaints with the Illinois AG, Secretary of State Dealer Division, and am pursuing legal action. Check the other reviews—many describe similar sales and service issues. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere. More
