My experience at Napleton's in Arlington Heights was deeply troubling and raises serious questions about their pricing practices. I went there to check out a used 2020 Ram Big Horn listed at $28K. Despite the clear advertisement, I was shocked when salesman Eldin and manager Alex added $5K to the price—$4K for a certification fee and $1K for a "used car selling fee." This was particularly frustrating because the truck was advertised as already certified. Eldin’s attempt to negotiate by cutting the certification fee in half only intensified my concerns about their pricing integrity. After I left, Alex called offering to sell me the truck at the original listing price if the pending sale fell through. However, the listing was removed the next day, making me question the legitimacy of his offer and the overall transparency of their pricing. Under Illinois law, while additional fees such as taxes, license, title, and documentary service fees are expected, the advertised price should reflect the true cost to the consumer. Napleton's pricing strategies appear not only deceptive but potentially questionable in their legality. My experience was far from satisfactory, and I strongly urge potential buyers to be cautious when dealing with this dealership. I also invite Napleton's to respond and clarify these practices to provide greater transparency for future customers. More
