Worst experience at a dealership EVER!! This review is about the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. I went to North Coast Auto Mall because I saw that they had a This review is about the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. I went to North Coast Auto Mall because I saw that they had a large inventory of cars at very reasonable prices. However, I soon found out that the low prices are just a gimmick to get you into the door. My sales representative Marilyn Carrol was very nice until it came time to sit down and talk about the numbers regarding the vehicle price and payment. She offered me $500 for my trade. I was quite shocked because the trade-in blue book value of my car was $2,000 to $4,000. She justified the extremely low offer with a list of things that the service department claimed was wrong with my car. The claims were outright false. I had my car thoroughly inspected at a Nissan dealership recently. So, I knew that they were lying. Next, she tried to sell me an overpriced warranty for the car. I said no. She kept pushing and got nasty. She made the following comments – “What are you going to do if the car breaks down immediately after driving off the lot? We are not responsible for that!” “What if you have to pay $9,000 for electrical damage on the car?” I asked her if she had any disclosures that she wanted to make about the vehicle. It was a 2 year old Volkswagon with around 30k miles on it. The only way that a car would break down like that would be if it has been in an accident, flood, or other catastrophic event. She finally moved on to presenting me the payment breakdown. I told her that the payments were too high without my trade-in and that I wanted my keys back. Then the manager, Matt, came over WITHOUT MY KEYS. I expected that he was going to try to make a deal or suggest that I look at another vehicle. Instead, he aggressively raised his voice at me and told me that I didn’t know how to do math. My husband and I just sat there in shock. I asked AGAIN for my keys so I could leave. He brought them and we quickly walked out. I was not longer a hostage! Please RUN from this place. It is a predatory dealership! They try to press you into add-ons and a high interest loan in order to inflate the cost of the car. More
