I still stick to my title, "Buy What You Want, Not What They Want To Sell You" I met with Scott Oakley today and he did clarify a few things with me I still stick to my title, "Buy What You Want, Not What They Want To Sell You" I met with Scott Oakley today and he did clarify a few things with me which my bank did not. I was upset because they would not finance the car that I wanted but now I find out it was because the bank would not finance a vehicle of that age (2005). The bank did not care about the low mileage, they only went by the Blue Book Value. This is something that Brian or Chris never explained to me. They only told me that the bank would not finance because of the age of the car and I needed 50% down. Now that I met with Scott, and he explained it to me, I totally understand. Instead of being under pressure, I think the sales peaple and the finance people need to go a little deeper in depth and explain this to people searching for a specific car and or price. and why thy do or do not qualify. They need to explain about the Blue Book Value and why a lender won't finance instead of just saying "the bank won't finance". Please explain why. NOW I know why, but not everyone does, excpelliay us old people. Now I know that because Oakleys was asking a higher price for this 2005 Buick and the bank wouldn't finance, was because of the KBB value, Oakley's was chargiing more because of the AMAZING LOW MILEAGE!!! I didn't know this when I went to buy it and was turned down. No one ever explained it to me other than I didn't qualify and I had to put 4K down. Scott set me straight today and explained a lot to me. I think if I ever need a newer ussed car. I would go straight to Scott and forget about the middle man. More
