I had a great experience at the dealership. Jamal was absolutely wonderful. I needed new tires and we worked together to get the ones that were in my budget. I have been going there for years. The person I dealt with Yve was terrible and honestly after that service, my husband and I decided we were not going to trade our car in with Ocean Honda and buy another Honda with the team. A gentleman after that service, my husband and I decided we were not going to trade our car in with Ocean Honda and buy another Honda with the team. A gentleman who I believe works there when my son and I were walking in was vey pleasant and actually asked if he can help us. I actually said my car was basically a write off and he said we should trade it in, but I advised another salesman had already scheduled an appointment with my husband about this in his return. Now this is about as pleasant as it got. After waiting patiently to be assisted, Yve raises her hand and says I finish at 4:30 p.m. so if this is going to take long, I can’t assist you. I said that Yve had called me in regards to my car (as I had been communicating with her since that morning) so I can wait for someone else. She states I’m Yve. She proceeds to assist us. Yve had prior called and said on the phone the cost of the diagnostics was $200 plus tax so around $212. When we got there, I was told $321. I inquired why, she stated that they did the oil change as well, even though she had called me and also given one of the sales rep my husband’s number and said the car was beyond repair/it will cost over $10,000 and to trade it in. I asked why will you then to proceed to do an oil change, and she said because it was quick and people after diagnostics will take their car and go somewhere else to get it fixed. I expressed my unhappiness about this. Now given she knew we were planning on returning to buy a new car with them, and we were going to trade in, said car, she could at least have waived the fee or reduced the cost, but rather I had a stoic you owe us this amount. Sorry to say I have made many people aware of the terrible service. Everyone I have spoken to said I should have stood my ground and not paid for the oil change, but her demeanor and I do not like confrontations, so I just paid it, but on my way out, I knew my husband and I will never be back to this place. This is not the way to keep customers. By the way I did get the car fixed at a fraction of the cost. Was quoted $11,080 but got it fixed for $3,800. I am still intending on buying a new car next week when my husband returns and the plan was for another Honda, but will not be returning to Ocean Honda. I work in customer service and recognize that my actions reflects on the company as a whole and a customer reviewing a place or returning. The service we received said a lot and put me off both the whole dealership. Certainly, the sales people and other people there in general may be pleasant but her actions was enough for me and my family. Even my 17 year old son, could not believe how she spoke to us. More
