This dealership has proven, IN WRITING, that they will change their story, refuse to honor their own offer, and then insult and attempt to intimidate you when you call them out. I was contacted by an employee named Brooklyn on Facebook Marketplace and invited to bring in my car for an appraisal. On October 17th, I was given a $17,000 verbal offer and told it would be good for 30 days. I returned exactly 14 days later — well within the timeframe I was given — ready to complete the sale. Instead, they suddenly dropped the offer to $15,000 and refused to accept even $16,000, which I offered in person. When I reminded Brooklyn of the original offer, she did not deny the amount or the date. Instead, she wrote: “i also know that we never say a month, we say 2 weeks.” That makes the situation even worse, because I returned on day 14 — exactly inside that “2-week” window — and they still refused to honor the quote. She later confirmed the offer had been real by writing: “offer stood, then it went away.” That is not a misunderstanding. That is not a negotiation issue. That is a dealership knowingly making an offer, acknowledging it, and refusing to stand behind it. After I left, calmly, without raising my voice or causing a scene, the messages from Brooklyn became openly unprofessional. She attempted to intimidate me by writing: “i sat right here and recorded your whole interaction.” She was not present during the conversation she claims to have recorded. Tennessee is a one-party consent state, which means it is illegal to record a private conversation you were not part of and do not have permission to record. So she was either lying as a scare tactic, or admitting to doing something unlawful. Neither reflects ethical business behavior. LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR: If this dealership truly does have a recording, I openly invite them to post it in response to this review so everyone can see how I conducted myself. I remained polite and professional the entire time. I have nothing to hide, and they already know that. Once the intimidation angle failed, the tone shifted to disrespect and sarcasm. She wrote: “you clearly are having trouble selling it for what you want. what would make you think we would want it at that price…” and finally: “im sorry your feelings are hurt.” That is the level of customer service this dealership considers acceptable. I walked in with a clean title, a well-maintained vehicle, and a willingness to sell. I was met with dishonesty, bait-and-switch tactics, and childish behavior when I pushed back. If this is how they treat someone who hasn’t even purchased a car from them yet, imagine what happens once they have your money and you’re stuck with them. There are dealerships in East Tennessee that honor their word, communicate professionally, and don’t threaten or mock customers when confronted. Ole Ben Franklin Motors Alcoa is not one of them. I will never do business with them again, and I strongly recommend others avoid them as well. As a first time buyer, I am very pleased I came here. They made the process run as smoothly as possible and were willing to help us any way they could. I recommend them to anyone that asks. Joe is down to earth listens to what you need/want and takes you from there. Showed us options after discussing our money flexibility so we knew up front what we could look at comfortably. For us that meant alot, two of our potential vehicles were at the Knoxville location Joe drove us there and allowed us to test drive another potential vehicle there once we got to the Knox location Joe was awesome kept us informed held conversation with our son and helped us test drive the others vehicles and we brought back our dream car (each location works with each other like a seamless team ,that was awesome to see no competition just teamwork) where Joe worked us the deal of our lives . After that experience we will never buy another car anywhere else , we are Joey Bananas for life!!! While Joe was out, we also briefly worked with Ryan who was great. He made the purchasing and pick up of the car seamless, and went out his way to make sure we were happy and knowledgeable with our purchase. I recommend both salesman, and my wife and I plan on coming back for our next vehicle in the future. More

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A NEW VEHICLE FOR MONTHS AND I HAVE TO SAY THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO OLE BEN FRANKLIN THE SALES REP JOE WAS HONEST RIGHT UP FRONT AND TRIED HIS BEST TO GET ME APPROVED. TWO MONTHS WENT PAST AND JOE REACHED OUT TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE GOING ON 6/24/23 AND INFORMED ME THAT THERE WHERE SEVERAL PROMOTIONS GOING ON I WAS SORTA HESTITATE AT FIRST THEN I THOUGHT IM GOING GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY. I RECIEVED A CALL FROM TOM THE GENERAL MANAGER AND HE ALSO PROVIDED ME WITH SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROMOTIONS WITH BANKS THEY HAD GOING ON AND ASK ME TO COME IN. SO I WENT IN AND WHEN I ARRIVED A SALES REP NAMED RYAN ASSISTED ME AND HE WAS ALSO RIGHT UP FRONT AND HONEST BETWEEN JOE RYAN AND TOM ASSISTING ME AND WORKING SO HARD TO GET ME A VEHICLE THAT I WANTED THEY WERE ABLE TO GET ME IN A 2023 SUV IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES I WAS SO EXCITED AND THEY WORKED SO HARD ALL DAY TO GET ME WHAT I WANTED AND THE PAYMENTS I COULD AFFORD. THEY WERE ABSOLUTLY AMAZING AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I RECIEVED WAS OUTSTANDING I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING TO SEE TOM RYAN AND JOE.
