And even up until the final moment, he stayed on hold with our insurance company for over an hour after they'd messed up our policy. He went above and beyond at literally every turn, which made an initially-overwhelming process SO simple. After spending a good part of this past week searching for a vehicle, we stumbled upon Open Road Volvo, which happened to have one of the cars that we were considering. Despite the appearance of the deale for a vehicle, we stumbled upon Open Road Volvo, which happened to have one of the cars that we were considering. Despite the appearance of the dealership due to current remodeling, we were warmly greeted by a salesman whose name was Matt Klepper. As the saying goes, “third time’s a charm” and it couldn’t have been more accurate. Open Road Matt was the 3rd Matt that we dealt with this week as we tried to find the right car. He was upbeat, knowledgeable, and sincere throughout the entire transaction. Matt listened to our concerns and opinions, and truly heard what we were saying. He treated us with respect, gave us all of his attention, and did not rush us through our purchase. If you are in the market for a car, consider visiting Open Road Volvo, and ask for Matt. More
Inquired about a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle and made an offer per their online deal platform. Upfront they disclosed $399 VIN etching fee and a hefty $799 documentation fee in addition to the standard lice offer per their online deal platform. Upfront they disclosed $399 VIN etching fee and a hefty $799 documentation fee in addition to the standard license, registration and state taxes. I offered to pay about $500 documentation fee (which is still high but similar to what other Volvo dealers have charged) and refused to pay the VIN etching fee as that is pure profit and not needed. They countered with an additional $2600 in fees on top of the VIN etching, that were not initially disclosed on their website. They wanted $1900 in prep fees (do they not account for these when they take the vehicle in?) and almost $700 in what was called "3 Year Maintenance". I replied back that I would not pay those fees and asked them to consider my original offer as I agreed that the vehicle was priced fairly. They declined, which is their right. I have no doubt that they will find customers that will pay those undisclosed and unnecessary fees that are pure dealer profit and have little to nothing to do with the actual cost of the vehicle. Please Google which fees that you should be paying and that are legitimate when you are negotiating a vehicle purchase. I appreciated the communication, which is why I added a star but it appears that they are setting the prices of the vehicles artificially low in order to make up for it with these extra fees. Also, I suggest doing everything you can from home before going in for a test drive. I would have wasted quite a bit of time had I gone in to look at the vehicle only to find out that their pricing is not at all upfront. More
