Hi Jim, Since you guys are very close to my home, I really want to be able to use your service department because of convenience. For the last few days the malfunction indicator light has been on. I understand that since providing this review your vehicle has been picked up and taken elsewhere, but wanted to still provide all of the details on the situation. I am sorry you were still feeling dissatisfied but, having spoken to your service advisor and reviewing the documentation, there are some things you have left out of the entire scenario which are pertinent to where we stand right now. You brought your vehicle in with a check engine light and we diagnosed & fixed what that code told us to fix. (Hence that initial $400.) The secondary issue, the alternator, was something that was not indicated by the check engine light, nor anything that we saw evidence of not working properly while it was here, before or after the repair. We have since recommended replacing the alternator (and possibly PCM) - which you also have not indicated here has already been replaced personally with an aftermarket and/or re-manufactured one - to fix that issue prior to being able to even attempt the programming you mentioned. So, it is not that the reprogramming is "not an option", but just not an option until the alternator (and possibly PCM) issue is fixed. We may also be prevented from any further diagnosis of other related issues without the new alternator (and possibly PCM), so basically we have provided you with all of the info we can at this point. It is also my understanding that, other than the alternator you did on your own, there are also some other aftermarket electronics connected to your vehicle (on it, unbeknownst to you, when you purchased is what I am told) that could be causing some/all of these issues as well. But again, we cannot start looking into those without starting with the alternator (and possibly PCM.) I can understand your frustration, but you seemingly brought your vehicle to an authorized repair center because you were not able to repair it elsewhere. Therefore, we are following the steps necessary to diagnose and repair things as the manufacturer recommends and our techs are trained to do, and our hands are tied now. So, while I again understand your frustration with the situation, I just wanted to clear up a few things which seem to have been misunderstood and/or miscommunicated during the course of this situation and these reviews.
