Greeting mnycrn, We brought the team together and talked it out. We asked how could a good customer have an experience where they felt something had been misrepresented?  There is nothing more important than integrity, and to hear your concerns we dug into this deeply.  However, we all had the same question. We could not identify you. We looked at the records with Bob Bartnick, the finance manager, looked at the dates, but we could not match your screen name with a customer. If we're missing something that should be obvious, our apologies. We have thousands of customers each year, and many, many reviews. Yours stood out because it was so angry. Yet we also had some trouble following your complaint the way it was described. We could never be in business if we ever marketed a product that tricked customers. Laws aside, we’d be out of business in short order if that was something we ever attempted to do. And as it relates to laws, we adhere and exceed all expectations and requirements as set by the state. That said, we decided to address this issue by looking at how we present materials, and to say, OK, what if there was confusion on the part of the customer? What are the signs in the meeting that can identify that there is confusion? We take this from the standpoint that if one customer has misunderstandings, than maybe others do as well. So we are taking the time to examine how items are presented. We do have customers sign documents saying that they understand, but fully realize that in the process with so many things going on, that may not always be the case. As a quick follow up, our Lifetime Warranty program is good for as long as you own the car, unlimited miles, and covers major items like the engine, pumps, transmission- the key parts of the drive train.  The extended warranty programs provides maintenance coverage for things that wear faster, like brakes, suspension, steering, plus much more.   Some might ask why get this on a new car, and it's because it has been shown to save money if you’re going to own and drive the car for a long time. If your planning on selling the car in 2-3-4 years, than the longer term plan might not be something you need. Aside from this online response, we would have reached out to you to set up a time to review these programs with you. Unfortunately, we’d need you to contact us, as we honestly can not pin point who you are from this review. We’ll be happy to come to you if that is more convenient. In the end, we want you to feel that you received everything that was due you, and then some. Best regards, Adam Arens, President/Owner

Hi Lisa, I just saw your posting and wanted to respond. It did not list your last name, so I was unable to look at the actual repair order to find the details, but I thought I would take a minute to explain our procedure for diagnosing electrical issues. Often customers will bring in a vehicle with an electrical component that is not working. The first place that we check is the fuse panel. The fuse is designed to be the weakest link in an electrical circuit. If the fuse is blown, there is something in the circuit that caused too much of an electrical draw on the system and the fuse burned the link inside as it is designed to do. The fuse is usually not the root cause of the failure, but a safety mechanism designed to burn up in the event of excessive draw. When we replace the fuse and confirm that the electrical component is operating, we attempt to find the cause of the electrical issue. It could be from a chaffed wire, poor contact at an electrical connection, or in many cases of power port failure, we find that aftermarket cell phone chargers etc can be the problem. By simply replacing the fuse does not “fix the problem”. The $48.00 charge I am assuming was for 30 minutes of diagnostic time that your mother would have pre-approved for us to try to determine what caused the electrical issue. We can not run a successful business by overcharging customers. In the future, please feel free to contact me directly at 207-284-7900 with any issues regarding your service. I am here to ensure that our customers are happy with their service experience at Patriot Subaru. Please give me a call, I would be happy to look up the repair order and find a resolution for your last visit. Regards, Glen Reed Patriot Subaru Service Manager
