Stay away! Terrible communicaiton with dishonest practices! This review is for the purchase of a used vehicle from Paul Miller Audi November 4, 2017. This was the worst used car buying experience of my 39 year This review is for the purchase of a used vehicle from Paul Miller Audi November 4, 2017. This was the worst used car buying experience of my 39 years. The negotiation process for the vehicle and my trade in was surprisingly straightforward. I have no issue with the used car manager (Paul Cheng) or how my “Audi brand specialist” (Leighton Kuet) handled the initial part of the sale. From there it went completely downhill. After waiting a significant period of time (as always in a car buying experience) I was finally introduced to the Finance Manager, Mr. Michael Motasis. Take note here, this is one of the most dishonest people I have ever met in my entire life. If you are considering buying a car from this dealership, look very closely at the charges Mr. Motasis includes on your bill of sale. I am an active duty military member who was registering the vehicle out of state. The staff at the dealership made ZERO effort to determine the sales tax laws in my state. While doing so, Mr. Motasis purposefully overcharged $435 for 1 year of registration/titling fees. Additionally, the staff at the dealership failed to determine that the value of my trade-in would reduce the overall taxable amount in my state. In doing so, Mr. Motasis purposefully overcharged $336.50 of sales tax. To add insult to injury, Mr. Motasis added an additional $299 for a “$5,000 etch policy”. Mr. Motasis claimed the windows would be etched with the VIN to protect against theft. Mr. Motasis provided no details to this “etch policy” or if it was optional. Of course, they added their $398 “processing fee” on top of all of this. I was in contact with Mr. Kuet and Mr. Motasis 2 days after purchasing the vehicle. I called them based on their request to let them know that I had contacted my state and they had overcharged the sales tax and registration. Additionally, I also was attempting to resolve if a VIN inspection was required by my state. At that time, Mr. Kuet and Mr. Motasis ensured me that I would be provided with a receipt resolving the discrepancies of charges and a check for any overcharges . 4 days after purchasing the vehicle I was in contact with Angie who deals with registration. She requested I conduct a VIN inspection on my own (at my temporary location) which I immediately did at the local police station that day. I returned the VIN inspection via the mail to arrive by the end of that week. Despite taking the time out of my day to accomplish this I received no indication from Mr. Kuet or Angie that the VIN inspection was received or the status. As a result, I called again 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle to get an update and request the status of my refund. Mr. Kuet told me I would either receive another 30 day temporary NJ registration or my state’s permanent registration and I would receive the refund for charges once resolved. After receiving neither, I again called several days later. This time Mr. Kuet finally communicated with Angie and I was told I would have to drive on an expired registration until I received the permanent tag from my state. I was again assured that I would receive a check for the difference in charges described above. I have since called 5 more times speaking with Mr. Kuet asking for my refund. I contacted Mr. Kuet on December 19th, and was ensured that Angie stated “the check was in the mail”. It is now December 26th and I have not received a check, a way to track the check or any communication at all. In addition to all of this, the vehicle DOES NOT have any VIN etching on any of the windows. I was unable to verify this the evening it was purchased as the vehicle was turned over to me in the dark with the entire dealership closed. The dealership charged $299 for this dubious valued item and did NOT even provide it. I have since finally receive my state’s registration and tag, but have not received the $1,070.50 due to me in return. Again, don’t expect good communication, customer service, or honesty from this dealership. If I could give ZERO stars I would! More
Buying made easy I came in twice in the process of my decision-making. Both times the meeting was set up perfectly, for me to drive the cars I wanted to test. The ne I came in twice in the process of my decision-making. Both times the meeting was set up perfectly, for me to drive the cars I wanted to test. The negotiation over price was a breeze as I have always experienced with Peter! No "I have to get the sales manager's okay first". A simple handshake sealed the deal. On the day of receiving the car everything was prepared and the process couldn't have been smoother. More
