I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by this dealership during what should have been a simple oil change. When I purchased my car, I was entitled to two complimentary oil changes. When I this dealership during what should have been a simple oil change. When I purchased my car, I was entitled to two complimentary oil changes. When I came in to have my oil changed, I was told by the person I initially spoke with that I was not entitled to the free service. That was the first piece of misinformation I was given. I then had to track down and speak with the salesman who originally sold me my car just to try to get clarification on something the dealership should have already had documented. While this was happening, I used the dealership’s website chat because I wanted to independently confirm what I was actually entitled to. I was told by another salesman that the person I had been chatting with was a robot. I contacted the chat again, and the representative confirmed that they were a real person. More importantly, they confirmed that I was, in fact, entitled to the two complimentary oil changes. So at this point, I had already been given multiple conflicting stories: I was told I wasn’t entitled to the oil changes, I was told the online representative was a robot when they weren’t, and then the online representative confirmed that I was entitled to the two free oil changes. That is an unacceptable amount of misinformation for something that should have been incredibly straightforward. At that point, there are really only two possibilities, and neither reflects well on this dealership: either the dealership was attempting to take advantage of me as a woman and get me to pay for a service I was entitled to receive for free, or the employees simply don’t know their own policies. Neither explanation is acceptable. What made the situation even worse was the response from the General Manager, Nick. He eventually reached out and referred to the oil change as a “courtesy” because it was free, while also admitting that he didn’t know what had actually happened or what the situation was. That is incredibly unprofessional. How can you ask a customer to be grateful for a “courtesy” when you haven’t even taken the time to investigate what happened? If you’re going to reach out to a customer about a complaint, the bare minimum is to do your due diligence, speak with the employees involved, understand the situation, and then respond appropriately. And unfortunately, the unprofessionalism didn’t stop there. After CARFAX contacted me for a review, Nick, the General Manager, responded publicly to my review. Rather than taking the opportunity to investigate the situation, acknowledge the conflicting information I had been given, or take responsibility for the experience, he repeated claims that were not true and doubled down on the same misinformation I had already been given. This is exactly what proves my point. I had already been told one thing in person, something completely different through the dealership’s online chat, and then had the dealership’s own representative confirm that I was entitled to the two oil changes. Instead of addressing those facts, the General Manager chose to defend the dealership with information that contradicted my experience and the information I had independently received. When a General Manager responds to a customer’s public review by repeating misinformation instead of doing the due diligence to understand what actually happened, it says a lot about the culture and professionalism of the dealership. This wasn’t one simple misunderstanding. I was given lie after lie, conflicting information, and excuses from multiple people before I finally got confirmation of what I was actually entitled to. And when I raised my concerns publicly, rather than correcting the situation or taking accountability, the General Manager doubled down. Whether these were intentional lies or employees who simply had no idea what they were talking about, the the result is the same: I could not trust the information I was being given by this dealership More
