I recently purchased a Lexus RX 350h Premium Plus from Performance Lexus of Northern Kentucky as a wedding gift for my daughter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The salesperson I worked with, Andrew Wilburn, was absolutely exceptional. Andrew is one of the kindest, most polite, and genuinely helpful sales professionals I’ve ever worked with. He was extremely professional throughout the entire process and, most importantly, there was zero pressure at any point. Because this car was meant to be a surprise for my daughter, I pretended that I could only afford a used or lower-cost vehicle. Andrew completely played along and helped me stage the entire surprise flawlessly. His patience, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond made the moment truly special for our family. If I ever have the opportunity to buy another Lexus, I would absolutely work with Andrew again. A lot of people will talk up the Lexus purchasing experience, but that was not my experience. I generally found it to be underwhelming, even despite being there for 4 hours. On the positive side, experience, but that was not my experience. I generally found it to be underwhelming, even despite being there for 4 hours. On the positive side, I did have some pretty specific vehicle configuration questions that the salesman could not answer. He pulled in the service manager, and they were able to confirm that the vehicle had the specific feature I was asking about. On the constructive side, as the salesman pulled up the vehicle, there was trash in the car and it was clear people had been using the vehicle. I pointed out 3 times that the car wasn't as clean as as I'd like it, before and after the test drive, and before and after the purchase. I pointed to specific things that could be addressed, and some of them were, but others were ignored. My takeaway was that the salesman was there to try and sell me a car, but his priority was on that and not on the experience. I worked with Casey and with Andrew. I also asked for the inspection checklist of when they took possession of the vehicle, and a list of what they did to recondition it. Despite asking multiple times, they didn't furnish this information. For me, the small things matter. If I were buying an expensive vehicle, I'd hope the person selling the vehicle would have an idea what a customer buying a luxury vehicle is expecting. Things like a fuel tank less than half full are minor in the grand scheme of things, but it lets me know the dealer isn't paying attention to the details of the buying experience. I think the vehicle is a good one after owning it for a few days, but this dealer left a lot to be desired in terms of wanting to offer customers a differentiated experience. More
