Steve Smith came out to greet me as I arrived and my initial feeling was that he was there to help me pick out the best car for me. He listened carefully to what I wanted and answered all questions that I had. He took me to the models I had asked about and pointed out the details of each car. He also accompanied me on several test drives and was very thourough in describing features and comparing different models. Steve was at all times extremely patient and helpful to me to pinpoint what I needed in a car. He did everything possible to make the buying experience proceed smoothely. Tim Willis, the sales manager, was most supporting to make sure that no stone was left unturn. Danny Wright, the finance manager, was extremely thorough in going over all of the details of the sales process. He clarefied all of my questions and reassured me throughtout the financial discussions. All in all, my experience of buying my new car at Pohanka Honda was exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend this dealership, and these gentlemen, to anyone with my highest rating. More

I worked with Isaac Hawkins at Pohanka Honda, and I could not have been happier! This was my first car-buying experience, so I was extremely indecisive. Nonetheless, Isaac gave me all the information that not have been happier! This was my first car-buying experience, so I was extremely indecisive. Nonetheless, Isaac gave me all the information that I needed and worked with me over the course of several meetings to find the car that best fit my needs and my budget, and was very helpful and kind. Isaac made it clear to me right off the bat that what mattered in our transaction was that I found the right car for me; it took me a long time to figure it out, and even once I'd picked a car, he was extremely accommodating when I changed my mind about the car color that I wanted, and went above and beyond to make sure that I got my dream car. Isaac was also reachable virtually anytime, even returning a call to me on his day off to make sure I wasn't left in the lurch. I wound up buying a beautiful blue Honda Fit from him, and I couldn't feel happier about my decision. I enjoyed the amenities and friendly people at Pohanka Honda, but frankly, just that wouldn't be enough to build customer loyalty. However, I will definitely be coming back to Pohanka just so I get to work with Isaac again! More
Judaea and Dana (Sales/Leasing) put my interests first as the customer. They worked as a Team and I trusted they would be honest with me. They dedicated a significant amount of time to make sure I made tho the customer. They worked as a Team and I trusted they would be honest with me. They dedicated a significant amount of time to make sure I made thoughtful decisions. In my case, there was no haggling with Greg Altman since I knew I received a excellent price having already researched other vehicles/dealers. Special mention to Joe Mang who also offered options and recommendations, along with Calvin Baker who carefully/slowly explained warranties and all paperwork in great detail. We had brought our 2000 Accord to this dealer previously and received exceptional "as you wait" service...at 10:00 p.m. so I could get to work the next day, so we chose this dealer for our new car based on proven performance. Note: ALL employees were courteous, professional and friendly in a positive way of not hounding customers to meet a quota or commission...Bottom Line - what was promised was delivered. More
This was a great experience. First the CRV was for my wife as a replacemnet for a 2006 Odyssey that was going to our son. So there was no trade-in to worry or complicate the deal. We had plenty of time wife as a replacemnet for a 2006 Odyssey that was going to our son. So there was no trade-in to worry or complicate the deal. We had plenty of time to consider what to buy, 3 months, so no pressure deals were considered. We visited 3 different Honda Dealers as well as other car dealers. My wife was sold on Honda and that was the only vehicle she drove 2 times. While we were looking around I tried some on-line Internet salea sites of various dealers. Bobby Dobbins of Pohanka Honda responded with a phone call and a follow up price based on NO Trade-IN for a CR-V EX-L AWD. Bobby quoted a deal better than I could even get thru United Buying Service (a pre-negotiated no hasle deal). I took the deal to a local dealer that we had been working with to see what they would do. Unfortunately, they would not even meet the deal that I had been offered; but offered one $500 higher after lowering the price $600. I got another great internet offer from a Maryland dealer that was very close to Bobby's deal. That dealer indicated that he could not match the deal and that it was a very good offer. If for some reason the deal did not go thru, he would still honor his offer. Memorial Day weekend was coming up which is a great time to buy because it falls near the end of the month when dealers are trying to meet sales objectives. The internet manager had indicated he would make Bobby's deal even better if we bought on Mothers Day weekend and later said he would honor the same offer later after Mothers Day. We got the vehicle for about $800 less than i had been prepared to pay for a In-High Demand CR-V with no incentives from Honda as a result. The service was as advertised and the price was even slightly a little better than expected. Over all Bobby and the Dealership were great with no hidden agenda or games which so many other dealers play ("BRING US YOUR BEST OFFER AND WE WILL BEAT IT") These types of come-ons are just to get you in the door. Pohanka Honda also does not add all kinds of Accessories to cars to raise the price; and the accessary price list was supplied in advance of any deal. Many of these accessories you can find on line from Honda and can be installed yourself if you are handy: like Wheel Locks, Splash Guards, and Door edge protectors. In total it was well worth driving 50 miles to get a great deal from Pohanka Honda and Bobby Dobbins. If you are like us buying a Honda from a dealer that is not likely to service it; all Honda dealers have to service any vehicle under warranty. The Honda Odyssey mentioned above was bought out of State and serviced by Virginia Dealers with no problems. This will be the same for our new CR-V. Highly recommend this dealer and Bobby Dobbins. After calling, searching, emailing more than 5 area Honda dealers, I've decided to give a Pohanka Honda a shot. We (better half and a infant) were tired, exhausted from the search for our new Odyssey. Got dealers, I've decided to give a Pohanka Honda a shot. We (better half and a infant) were tired, exhausted from the search for our new Odyssey. Got in touch with Kingsley via email and after few message exchanges, I've decided to go visit the showroom. A car we were interested was parked right in front of the building for us to take a look. Kingsley introduced Don to us as an assigned sales consultant. My wife test drove it and like it very much, but decided to think it over for a night. Surprisingly no pressure. I was expecting to Don to pressure us to go inside and start negotiating, but he just said that call him when we are ready. We called following morning and told Don that we've decided to pull the trigger and be at the dealership in 2 hours. We were out of the showroom in less than an hour! Seamless, stress-free car buying experience. I would recommend Kingsley, Don (and Pohanka Honda) any day of the week. Thanks. More
Another Honda service experience… My ’98 Accord with ~ 235,000 miles was experiencing flutter starts. As it turned out, the less than three year-old Honda battery was on the brink of failure. This was a n 235,000 miles was experiencing flutter starts. As it turned out, the less than three year-old Honda battery was on the brink of failure. This was a new experience for me, since most of my Honda batteries typically last five to six years. Not to worry… Honda’s three-year replacement warranty for the battery was applied, and in less than 45 minutes Pohanka had installed and tested a new battery for the Accord. Thanks to Michael Kut, one of Pohanka’s service consultants for the prompt and reliable service. I’ve driven Hondas since 1974, and I’ve been a customer at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg since 1998. Quality and service go a long way. Thanks again to Michael Kut, and all the other service consultants and mechanics for top quality service. John Womble Spotsylvania, VA More
I am an honest-to-goodness customer writing this review hoping to maybe refer a couple of people over to Pohanka, because our experience really was a good one. That being said.... We were a little nervou hoping to maybe refer a couple of people over to Pohanka, because our experience really was a good one. That being said.... We were a little nervous going into the dealership because we haven't purchased a new car in over 10 years. The anticipation of getting a salesman who was trying to wring us for all we had was in the back of my mind. Dreading the back and forth of offers, waiting to hear what the man in the other room had to counter back with....we were dreading it! But this, HONESTLY, was not like that scenario at all. We wanted a new or like-new Odyssey and researched the internet for several weeks. We printed out several websites assessments on what the invoice cost is versus the sticker price., as well as what the "good" "fair" or "great" price was for our zipcode. We had a Kelley Blue Book value assessment for our trade in, and we showed up to Pohanka in Fredericksburg ready to battle and reasonably informed. We had a referral from our bank to a different dealership, however a friend referred us to Pohanka. We decided to check them out first, and if we weren't happy we were going to move on to the bank's suggestion. After a great test drive with Justin, Bobby very quickly presented us with a price that beat everything we had printed out from my online research. He beat our Kelley Blue Book invoice prices, Truecar prices, even stuff we'd seen written in an Odyssey forum. He was below invoice prices that we found anywhere online. We hardly even knew how to respond because we had prepped to be ready to throw in counter offers and negotiate. Honestly, this was a no-haggle situation. We did have to fight on the value we wanted for our trade-in, but we told them what our bottom line was and they met it. There were two minor negatives to our situation. One, it took HOURS to get everything said and done. It was Memorial Day weekend, a very busy time at the dealership. We agreed on a price before 4pm, but were still waiting to get in to sign the financing papers until after 6. We weren't expecting that. The staff was very apologetic, and as attentive as could be, but we did not enjoy that! And the second part we didn't enjoy was in the actual financing office; we were presented with the add-on warranty packages and services. Right away we declined them, and we were expected to explain our decision. Every reason we gave for not wanting the coverage, it seemed as if they had a counter-reason to negate our thoughts. Nonetheless, we feel like if we told them "no thanks", then we don't owe an explanation. We don't want to be pressured into buying more than we want, and to just let it be. We resisted, told them politely again that we will pass, and that was the end of it. We weren't in the office very long, but oddly enough that is where we felt the pressure was, not at the negotiating table! We have nothing to gain from this assessment, but honestly the process was not bad, and I do respect the associates working there at Pohanka Frederickburg and recommend giving them a visit. More
