Service Center requires: Patience, Time, lotsa standing Cannot make appointments. This Service center is more like a Lexus Clinic than Service Center. Once you arrive and your car is checked in at the curb, Cannot make appointments. This Service center is more like a Lexus Clinic than Service Center. Once you arrive and your car is checked in at the curb, you enter a standing room only waiting area. You'll see several service desks with upwards of 6 service reps standing behind them usually clicking their mice and mashing keys on their keyboards. At some point, a rep will lift their head up and away from their monitor to say "Someone will be with you shortly". I look around the room, I am the only one there waiting to be checked in. Another 10 minutes go by. Employees are in an out of the area, sometimes dropping off paperwork, other times just standing behind the desk with the service reps chit chatting about life, customers and other life issues. The service reps are still busy doing some sort of click heavy work as another looks up and says "Someone will be right with you." 15 Minutes have no gone by and I now have a companion in the waiting line. We are now down to 5 service reps behind the counter and a couple other employees still chatting about life. The 6th service rep had put on a coat and apparently left for the day feeling like it was a job well done. Finally, after 20 minutes of standing in a doorway I am permitted to check in with a service rep. The rep was kind and apologetic, and if this were not my first time dealing with this, I would have taken it seriously. Instead, it was simply the "Pohanka Apology" we service area veterans are used to. Soon after (soon being relative to the age of the universe) my visit is complete. I take my weary legs out the door and to the car my wife has been relaxing in for about 30 minutes. I chose to ask my wife to carpool for this because Pohanka likes to charge $5 per day for their loaners. She was most gracious in accommodating since this trip was a time sink for both of us. Some hours later, their service department called and said the car was ready to be picked up. So I started my quick "Pohanka Training" to get in shape for the second half of this adventure as their "Quick Pickup" feature rarely works. This part of the fun involves hunting down the person that is supposed to be the "keymaster" and is responsible for meeting you and showing you were your freshly "washed" vehicle is waiting. I say "Washed" because normally their car wash will miss the rear-end of the car leaving it to look, well, half washed. PRO-TIP: Do not look for the Keymaster in the Car Kennel if the sun is up, they usually retreat from the sun and can be found in the shade somewhere. All in all, it was nice to be forced into checking my Facebook and reading current events for not only our area, but the country and several others as well. More
