Please accept my apology for your experience. At Hendrick Honda we strive to give every customer a World Class experience and clearly in this instance we failed. I do regret that my used car manager did not give you the value for your trade that you had hoped for. This can happen for a number of reasons. The appraiser can make an error. They are after all human. Also, the inventory plan for a vehicle does affect the amount offered. A dealer that intends to retail a trade might "step up" on the vehicle as compared to one that is planned for wholesale. In your case the vehicle was planned as wholesale and would have gone to the auction. A Town & Country is simply not a good fit in most cases on a Honda used car lot, especially when compared to Chrysler Jeep dealer. Our practice when evaluating wholesale vehicles is to contact other dealers and wholesale buyers to get offers and a good feel for the vehicle's actual value, especially on non-import vehicles, which are not our area of expertise. In this way we can offer the most value for the customer's vehicle while minimizing the risk of a wholesale loss. That being said, we do make every attempt to be agressive in our offers for trade-ins. That is evidenced by our $39982 wholesale loss thru July of this year. I can assure that our managers are very focused on making every deal and that is why we are the fastest growing Honda dealer in South Florida in both sales and service this year. We do take customer satisfaction and our reputation seriously and are proud that this month we are, according to Honda, #1 in customer satisfaction out of 16 Honda dealers in S. Fla., #3 out of 129 in the Fl, Ga, Tn, Al zone and #27 of 1044 in the country. Again I regret your experience and hope that this sheds some light on our failure. Again, it appears we may have missed your trade by a couple of thousand dollars. That is inexcusable and I have reviewed this with the parties involved. I hope this explanation offers some insight into how we do business and how my manager made this error. If any of this makes sense I hope that possibly you could soften your review.
