Carlos was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. After I got the “underinflated tire” warning on the way home from having my car serviced, I called Audi service and got Carlos. That warning light se After I got the “underinflated tire” warning on the way home from having my car serviced, I called Audi service and got Carlos. That warning light seems to come on every time Flemington Audi works on my tires, so I asked if he could make a note to put more air in next time. He said if it was my “feeling” that the tires were underinflated, he could do that, but the “fact” was that it was cold last night, and the temperature difference must have tripped the sensor. When I suggested he might want to avoid calling a customer’s opinion a feeling and his own opinion a fact, he just went off and started yelling at me. Yelling. I am not exaggerating. I later checked and found one underinflated tire. So not only did Carlos bully me, but his so-called fact was nonsense. Negligent service, verbal abuse when you point it out – these are not a formula for customer satisfaction. After trying for some time, I did get a callback from the service manager, Chris Short. He was clearly trying to help, but he could have handled the call in a more productive way. Here’s what I mean. Chris told me there was a recording of my call with the service rep. He said he would listen to the recording and, if he decided it merited any action, he would take care of it internally. In other words, I would never know the result. This is backwards. He should have listened to the recording BEFORE calling me. What I needed to know was whether Flemington Audi management condones aggressive, intimidating behavior by a male service rep toward a female customer. If he didn’t find that behavior offensive, I would know never to take my car there again. And if he did, I could have some confidence that the bullying was limited to one bad apple rather than the whole business. Chris did apologize, but it was a “sorry if you were offended” apology rather than “sorry for the unacceptable behavior.” The latter would have kept my family as customers. More
