Power Ford has the best selection in Ford vehicles. They set me up an appointment with a salesperson and set me up for a test drive and explained in full detail the features of the vehicle I wanted. After a long weekend, we had finally purchased a great 2020 Explorer on August 2, 2020 at Power Ford in Albuquerque, NM. JR did help us the first day and half of our search for a vehicle. The vehicle that was brought in was appraised for a value of 12500, then soon after 16500. We didn't get the rate that we wanted, because of course we wanted something that would fit our budget. That Saturday night we mentioned that we were going to leave, and JR told us "so you're going to tell me I wasted my time", and I said "if you worked with us, we could've had a deal, but we haven't eaten so we'll call you". I remember this because we went to go eat, and we left an extra key for the vehicle we were going to trade in, so we awkwardly called back asking for the keys. Our second day there, the attitude he left with on Saturday was the same. We then changed our mind that if we could search for different vehicles with the 16500 trade in rate, and we were told we could. Even towards a new vehicle. So we began another search, that took the day. We left to get a bite to eat, and said we need to talk about our budget to see what range we'll be looking for so we came back. We returned and selected a vehicle that we wanted. From here on, Luis (salesman) helped us, pretty well. We were then told that the 16500 trade-in rate would not be honored. We asked and they mentioned that it couldn't be used on new vehicles by Ace. But he was the one who gave confirmation to us using it for a new vehicle. We continued to process the financing of the vehicle and gave them information that they needed, and I told them I wanted to apply for a student discount. The sales team had came out and told me that there was a computer in the back corner, and I input my information and was cleared, but it wasn't able to provide a certificate, which is what Mike Madrd and his team said he needed. I was messing around with the computer and wasn't able to get it. I was sitting there for about a good 10 minutes. Mike Madrd then came up to me and told me, in front of Luis and my family, that he would honor the $500 rebate for a college student, and on top of that, a $500/check would be given "for troubles", and if a 5-star rating was given he would also throw in some weather tech mats. Which made the night better. I don't know if he wanted to just leave, but I accepted the gentleman's agreement. We then proceeded with filling out the rest of the paperwork. It was noted that the $500 was listed as assistance, so I took his word. Weeks later, I mentioned that the survey hadn't been sent, but I did tell him that I was able to get the college certificate and I forwarded him the message. I then asked when I would receive that check as promised, then it became a problem after I sent him the survey confirmation. Words had changed and now I am writing my disatifaction. My thought was that because of the change of trade-in value from 16500 to 12500, the exchange would have been worth it. Everything changed once I was sent the survey More
