Dear sir, Rosemary has made me aware of your request for additional information defining what a leasing "acquisition fee" is. We will be happy to provide the information you request. Unfortunately we are unable to scan the documents and email them to you as requested. We will be sending them to your home via certified mail for your convenience. You will be recieving the following: two 3rd party definations of what a acquisition fee is and another copy of your lease agreement that shows this fee was disclosed as per the Consumer Leasing Act of Jan 1998. I hope you found Rosemary to be a great advocate on your behalf. At any time in the future, please feel free to have your daughter contact her. We wish her many years of happiness with her vehicle. We thank you for your business and look forward to an revision in dealerrate review of us. Sincerely, Donna Personeus Director of Business Development

Donna, Thank you and Rosemary for taking the required steps to resolve the unfortunate issues that were part and parcel of this lease experience! Purchasing / Leasing a vehicle is the 2nd largest expense typically in life and this was my 20 year old daughters 1st experience. kevin has a great personality but lacks the experience to handle the follow-thru a customer expects. He needs training and I would have expected that he would have received this from an organization named PRIDE!

Mr Braga, We thank you for your patience and being open to allowing us to make up for the mistakes of our salesperson, Kevin. Our department, the BDC works directly for the dealer and his daughter, the president of Pride to insure that their customers are treated as they wish them to be treated. We, Rosemary and I, have made both the owner and president aware of Kevin's short comings and have recommended additional training for the entire sales force. Please don't hesitate to have your daughter contact Rosemary at any time. It is Rosemary's job as Customer Service Team Leader to work as our customer's advocate whenever neccesary. In closing, we would like to thank both you and your daughter for purchasing at Pride. Also thank you for honoring your word to revised your review. Rosemary will be praised during our upcoming Monday sales meeting for her efforts on your and your daughter behalf. Sincerely, Donna Personeus Director of Business Development

Dear customer, Could you kindly provide detailed information regarding why you felt our salesperson was deceptive and why you felt our management back our salesperson over you the customer. We are thrilled you love the car and hope to work this issue to be fair to all parties. Sincerely, Ms. Personeus Director of Business Development Pride Hyundai of Seekonk

I was told my binder of $2,500.00 to source the car from another dealer would be refunded after I came in with a cashier's check for the agreed purchase price, which I did.$ was never refunded and I ended up paying $2,500.00 more than we had agreed upon.Met with Lisa Parisealt and Manny Ramos who apologized for any miscommunication but would'nt refund the money I felt that I overpaid!Bad and deceptive business practice!I want to warn others of this and see that there are other posts that echo similar sentiments!

Pride Hyundai of Seekonk responded

It is my understanding that all the paperwork that you signed included your $2,500 down payment. Is that correct? You are aware that your cost of your vehicle which included the $2500 was at a loss of over $700 to the dealership correct. Does it make sense that the dealership would be willing to sell a vehicle at a $3,200 loss? Don't you think there may have been a misunderstanding on your behalf.

tsark918 responded

No.Both my wife and me heard the same reassurance that the money would be refunded. We had agreed to an "out the door" price of $26,500.00 (INCLUSIVE OF TAXES AND FEES) Minus the value of my trade, estimated at the time of negotiation to be around $2,500.00.What we ended up paying was $2,500.00 more than we had agreed to.We never were even given a copy of the purchase and sale agreement after my wife had signed it!Overall poor experience that we are sharing with Hyundai USA.

Why would your dealership source out a car that you did'nt have in inventory for a $700.00 loss as you refer to it?

Mr. Sarkasian, I am surprised you are asking this question since I spent quite a bit of time explaining to you why we did so when we met in my office a few weeks ago. However, to refresh your memory I will be happy to once again explain it to you. Hyundai is an extremely popular brand right now not just in the USA but globally. Both the Southern and Western regions have increased their sales by staggering numbers; some areas are up 85% in sales. Hyundai has one plant in the USA located in Alabama which produces roughly 320,000 units annually, that production represents roughly half of the total Hyundai sales in the USA. The rest of the cars come directly from Korea by sea and Korea allocates a certain percentage of their production to each country. As I explained to you when we met, dealers earn cars based on what Hyundai calls a “Turnand Earn System”, which basically means the more you sell the more cars Hyundai will give you. Since the Southern and Western Regions are seeing substantial sales increases due to the recent popularity of the Hyundai brand it resulted in those regions earning more cars than they had in the past. Those cars had to come from somewhere because as I have already stated the USA only has the capacity to produce 320,000 vehicles annually and the rest come from the portion that Korea has set aside for the USA out of their production. What resulted was cars that would have originally gone to the Eastern Region got diverted to the South and the West coast. Fewer cars for us meant fewer sales and now every dealer is trying to “turn” or sell as many cars as possible in order to show sales increases so we can earn back the cars we lost from Hyundai. That is why we took a small loss on the sale of your vehicle because it was one more unit we could report as sold which will help our “turnrate” in order to earn more cars. Taking a loss, so long as it is not a major loss, every now and then to hit a sales goal number is not uncommonin any industry. At the end of our discussion you stated you were still going to call Hyundai Motor America directly and I had encouraged you to do so because I wanted you to feel comfortable knowing what I was telling you was the truth. If you have not yet called them, I encourage you to do so. Thank you, Lisa AnjosPariseault Pride Hyundai of Seekonk 11 Taunton Avenue Seekonk, MA 02771 (508)336-3580 office (508)336-4972 fax

Dear Mr. Sarkasian, It is certainly upsetting for us to know that you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase experience here at our dealership, however, when we sat down to review your paperwork with you and your wife all the figures you negotiated matched the figures on all the legal documents. What was communicated to you was that your deposit was refundable if we could not locate the particular Sonata you wanted to purchase, or because you were paying by check for the vehicle and your deposit was on a credit card, if you brought in a check for the full purchase price we would refund the deposit on your credit card. You brought in a check for the balance due after the deposit so no refund was owed. The amount of the check plus your credit card deposit equals the amount listed on the negotiation paperwork which matches the legal documents you signed. Again, we are truly sorry that you are not 100% satisfied and we certainly are not taking the salesperson’s side over yours, if the customer is owed something we give it to them. In your case nothing was owed so nothing was given. I am glad you love your Sonata, it’s a great vehicle and I wish you many years of driving enjoyment with it! Sincerely, Lisa Anjos Pariseault
