Fast service We brought our vehicle in for a recall notice (2012 Subaru Outback) but told them the car was making a noise and could they look at that as well. Not only did they find the noise in the Wheel bearing but they noticed that we were overdue on a timing belt. We were leaving on a trip the next day pulling a boat to southern Missouri so really wanted to get it fixed and they did. Service adviser thought it would be a good idea to change the timing belt since it was 25K miles overdue and we were pulling a trailer. Got all the service work done and picked up the Outback at 4PM. All in time for me to get my trip in order and everything worked great during my trip. Can't thank the service adviser enough for making this happen. More
Lack of competence and communication While under warranty, we had our vehicle towed to Ramsey for service after a slew of warning lights went off and the vehicle died. When our vehicle w While under warranty, we had our vehicle towed to Ramsey for service after a slew of warning lights went off and the vehicle died. When our vehicle was initially evaluated, we were informed by the service advisor "don't call us, we'll call you." Fifteen minutes after we picked up a loaner car, we received a call from a service person saying there was nothing wrong with our vehicle and to come pick it up. Informed the caller we had just picked up the loaner and they were supposed to keep our vehicle for further evaluation. Reply from the caller was "Oh. Forget I called." Received no communication during the first full week vehicle was in for service. Was contacted by a different service advisor the following week as he needed to know what the status was of our vehicle as the first advisor was on vacation for a week and hadn't left a note. Since no one had called with an update and we were told not to call, we had no idea. Ramsey had our vehicle for 4 weeks during which they reportedly "test drove it multiple times a day, both in town and out of town." Not sure how that was possible considering they logged all of 38 miles in a 3 week period - that's less than 2 miles a day! We came to the realization Ramsey was not going to put any effort into determining the cause of the vehicle failure. After a couple conversations with the corporate office, we decided to retrieve our vehicle from Ramsey (31 miles away) and take it to the next closest dealership (103 miles away) for evaluation. While C&S may not have determined the cause of the problem, they drove our vehicle over 350 miles in just two weeks trying to recreate the situation, called with updates and all of the people we encountered at C&S were extremely helpful and pleasant. It was definitely the right choice for us and well worth the extra 70+ mile drive for service! Our salesman at Ramsey (Paul) was absolutely awesome but we will never return to Ramsey for service again. Many thanks to C&S and the corporate office for restoring our faith in Subaru! More
