We ended up trading are Lincoln in for 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Service manager told me that it was a good thing you turned in your Lincoln because we found more damage from roof leak under the carpet that c 1500. We looked at couple of them. Used trucks. They said would you like to take a drive and we said yes. The drive was around the skillman complex just idling. The truck was for my wife so the first day she drove the truck to work she said it was missing out or something was wrong with it. I kinda blew it off because it was new to her and just listened. Everyday she drives it the same thing. It idles rough or something is wrong with the transmission. Anyhow this went on for the first week and I finally took it for a drive. Sure enough something is diffently wrong and it’s the transmission. I am a fleet manager at my work and we had same issues with GM but they were 2020 models. I thought 2023 they would had fixed the issues. Doing some more research I found out the 10 speed transmission and 5.3 are major issues. After two weeks of having the same issue with are 2023 GMC we just bought is now in the shop at Skillman GMC on 31 South. Eric the service manger at Skillman ford South called me before we took the truck in and he said he “I was just following up with you and what we found with the Lincoln.” After that I told him the truck we just purchased has transmission issues. I also told him about my job position and what I did. I told Eric that my experience with the transmissions all the mechanics would do would be fish out transmission and return it. It would be fine for about 4-6 months but the issue would come back. I told him I did not want that to happen with my wife’s truck. Root cause of the transmissions was torq converter. Anyhow the truck has 55,000 miles on it so power train is still under factory warranty. The other thing she noticed was ticking noise at first start up in the morning. Engine is 5.3 which also has issues. Meaning when it drop 4 cylinders to save gas it actually does damage to the motor. I am hoping the issue gets fixed. I am not saying this is Skillmans issue just saying the vehicles getting traded in I do not fill like they are getting inspected. Hopefully GM will help the consumers with all the issues they are having. It is a little of a pain to find another vehicle temporarily while are is getting fixed. My wife is already talking about trying to find a more reliable vehicle. Like she said we paid 48,000 we should have a vehicle without issues. We did look at new ford king ranch. Sales person told us let’s have that as a back up plan in case the truck does not get fixed. Let’s see if the truck does get fixed and go from there. My wife said we may have to give the truck back within 30 days if issues is not fixed. More
