As a single female with limited knowledge of buying a new vehicle, I found the service unprofessional and the experience traumatizing last month. Initially, the representatives were very polite and eager to sell and assist me with a new purchase. But when I later raised issues about the car, their attitude changed. During the initial purchase, I questioned whether the 7.4% APR was unusually high for an individual with excellent credit, but the finance representative told me he had contacted my bank and that Red McCombs’ rate was lower. Not realizing before signing the contract that the information provided by the Red McCombs dealership financial consultant was incorrect. I tried to get a printed copy of the contract, but he told me they are no longer allowed to do so; instead, a flash drive was given to me. To my detriment, I unknowingly trusted the representative's lack of integrity. I went back to the Red McCombs dealership several times within a week of the purchase to address my concerns, but every time I had to wait over an hour to see a representative. I requested that they modify the contract because my bank could offer me a lower 5% rate on the car with an extended and GAP warranty. I was told by Red McCombs' financial consultant that he could not make modifications because the sale was final and had to be made within 48 hours of purchase. Also, I had the tires checked with Discount Tires Company, and the back tires' tread was extremely worn for a vehicle with 4,186 miles from the Red McCombs dealership. I was told by the Red McCombs service department that it was my responsibility to get additional tires. I did not realize this would be such an ordeal since I bought my 2014 vehicle new from Red McCombs. I assume it's a different time with different people. Two months later, I have not received the refund from the Red McComb dealership for the cancelled extended warranty and GAP. My bank gave me a lower rate, of course. Now I am nervous about buying another car from Red McComb and taking it for service and maintenance at this particular Red McComb dealership, because the incident made me feel it was about the sale rather than the customer. I purchased the 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty. I took my Hyundai in because the front headlight bulb keeps burning out. The dealership claimed it was my fault and would not cover the faulty connector wiring and tried to charge me $1600 for a whole new headlight. I took my car to Bob Mander automotive and they assured me that what was wrong with my headlight was not my fault, and the dealership's warranty should have covered it. Then they charged me $250 for a diagnostic fee. Seems outrageous to me. More
