Lots to learn I had an opportunity to compare a Costco AutoProgram and TrueCar buying experience on June 6, 2014. I was looking for an Acura RDX AWD 2014. TrueCar I had an opportunity to compare a Costco AutoProgram and TrueCar buying experience on June 6, 2014. I was looking for an Acura RDX AWD 2014. TrueCar quoted a price at a $2,170 savings of MSRP and connected me to Crown Acura in Clearwater. Costco AutoProgram connected me with Regal Acura in Lakeland, which quoted me a $4,466 discount, twice as large as TrueCar’s. I checked with both dealerships and both promised they had precisely the car I was looking for precisely at the price they advertised. I first scheduled an appointment with Regal in Lakeland as they offered a bigger discount. The dealership was empty. Kendall Miller and Raj Abraham greeted us cordially and friendly, offered coffee, and a ride in a car that was already prepared for us. Then it turned out that they did not have the car they earlier said they had it in stock. At that point Mr. Abraham brought two (!) sales managers who tried to sell me a newer model of the same car, at a higher cost. They blamed their “confused” staff and large and complex inventory for incompetence and incorrect price advertisement. It was a demeaning and insulting experience of over-promise, under-delivery, blame-shifting, and waste of time. It may explain why Regal dealership was empty when we visited it. I left without a car and scheduled my next appointment with Crown Acura the same day. Gillian Barnes, a Crown Acura Sales Consultant, had the car as promised and presented it in the most professional way. The car was priced exactly as advertised by TrueCar and I drove it off the lot the same day. In conclusion, both Costco AutoProgram and Regal Acura in Lakeland have lots to learn from TrueCar and Crown Acura in Clearwater. More
Excellent Buying Experience After an extensive online search over 2 months and e-mail negotiations with at least 8 Honda dealers in Tampa Bay and its surrounding areas, we recent After an extensive online search over 2 months and e-mail negotiations with at least 8 Honda dealers in Tampa Bay and its surrounding areas, we recently bought a Honda Odyssey at Regal in Lakeland. Their OTD price with the requested options beat everybody else's by at least $500, some as high as $2,500. In addition to the best price both Kendall and David with whom we did most of the dealings were very pleasant to deal with. They were very courteous and responsive. I did all the online/e-mail negotiations with Kendall and she responded with favorable responses mostly within the hour. David helped us during the final stages of the negotiation, dealt with us when we visited the show room twice, coordinated the paper work and the home delivery (60+ miles) of the vehicle after installing the accessories Overall it was a great experience and I will strongly recommend Regal, especially working with Kendall and David to anyone who asks me. Detail I have to say the overall experience was great. Expect for when I told I was going to get our van detailed since we just bought it. Well we waited for an hour and a half for them to run it through the car was and that looks about what was all done. Can't tell it was waxed. We were supposed to have our floor and seats cleaned. So after its all do and I walk around the car. Absolutely nothing on the inside was touched. Windows were barely cleaned. Now I get to spend my day off detailing like it should of been done in the first place. I've worked at dealerships for a while so I should know what to expect and we are very upset. But other than that our sales person and finance was wonderful. More

Raj was very pleasant and did not use high pressure tactics. We asked him to give us time to think about purchasing a new vehicle and he did exactly that. Went to dealer because they advertised certain vehicle.called ruler ship to confirm its availability and was told it was still there. Service Department is an absolute rip-off. We purchased the vehicle at this location and our experience with the shop only guarantees that we will never purchase another from them. They know we are taking the vehicle at this location and our experience with the shop only guarantees that we will never purchase another from them. They know we are taking the vehicle out of town so are trying to put us over a barrel when comparable cost from another show are over 30% less. The absolute best part is that they are charging us 100.00 to give us an estimate. This place is the reason dealership shops have the reputation they do. We were privileged enough to work with Rob Young who at this point is costing his employer more business than he provides. More
